Does Sullivan Have Womb Envy?

Via JWF, who points out Sullivan can't even keep his distorted facts straight. Other than mental ilness, as some suggest, I really can't think of another explanation for his obsession other than womb envy.

You would think the endless ridicule might make the guy reconsider going down this road again, but here he is back with the Trig Palin conspiracies. This is really bizarre.

Ha-Ha . . . do you get it? See, because Sullivan is gay, Dan is making a funny joke about how a gay man might be jealous of a REAL woman and her female parts. Right wingers like Riehl would like us to believe that they're really not bigots, and no doubt would deny that they intended to impugn the sexual orientation of someone like Sullivan. You see, their opposition to "the gay agenda" is not based on bigotry at all, but rather a perfectly reasonable and respectful belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman blah blah blah.

And yet, here we have a case that has nothing whatsoever to do with any "gay" issues, and Riehl is dragging in the completely irrelevant matter of Sullivan's sexual orientation, apparently for no other reason than to ridicule him. Even though it's no longer cool to beat up gays, still, if they think they're entitled to take on a beloved wing nut icon like Palin, then there's nothing wrong with reminding them that their sexual orientation automatically makes them pathetic and ridiculous to real men like Dan Riehl, right?

And speaking of bigots, in another thread you referred to Ms. California as a know-nothing beauty queen who is anti-gay. So she is anti-gay just because she thinks marriage should be between a man and a woman.

If time has proven anything, it's how "deranged" Palin's supporters have been, thinking that she was either ready for the Vice Presidency, that she would be a boost to McCain's chances or that she represents the future of the Republican Party. She can't even keep her stories straight, and Sullivan has the goods on her.

And yes, I do suspect that most of the right wingers who are against gay marriage are anti-gay. Riehl himself pretty much proves in a post like the one above that he finds gays like Sullivan to be ridiculous and contemptible in and of themselves, doesn't he? If Dan had a "valid point" to make about it, why would he sully that point by such gratuitous gay bashing?

Of course, if Sullivan had only been a good gay and not caused a fuss about the much-revered Sarah Palin, Dan wouldn't have found it necessary to bring up the matter of his gay, effeminate, hysterical and mentally unbalanced state of mind, but there it is. Queers need to be reminded of their place sometimes, along with those disease-ridden foreigners, non-english speakers, terrorist-loving liberals and non-white welfare queens, right? Isn't that the engine that drives conservative politics?

The point I make about Sullivan applies just as well to Miss California. I was actually saying that I thought it was wrong on the Olbermann show to ridicule Miss California in an overly personal way because of her political views, even though I disagree with her (and even though I suspect that a lot of people like her are motivated by anti-gay prejudice). Maybe I'm wrong about her being prejudiced, but it wasn't name-calling for its own sake. Are you serious? If you are, this is the very reason why the republicans are always on the defensive and are decades behind in the culture wars. The point is to destroy Palin. The only requirements for the lies are that they be clever, amusing, or bizarre.
