Why Is Obama Lying?

This has to rank as the dumbest PR move this WH has made. Do they really believe they can control the media narrative so completely that they can say whatever they want and it'll become the ultimate record? This lame explanation is simply false.

The only other logical explanation is that this was a second tier aide who went rogue with a dumb, and false, claim. But that only feeds the narrative that this administration is still careless, prone to go off message and somewhat out of control.
