MANAMA, Bahrain (CNN) -- U.S. Navy snipers fatally shot three pirates holding an American cargo-ship captain hostage after seeing that one of the pirates "had an AK-47 leveled at the captain's back," a military official said Sunday.
The captain, who'd been held in a lifeboat in the Indian Ocean since Wednesday, was rescued uninjured, Navy Vice Adm. Bill Gortney told reporters.

We should wait a day or two before the truth be told. Sounds like the Navy put into action a plan that lead to taking out the pirates beginning with thinning their ranks by bringing one pirate off the boat to negotiate. Then they brought the boat in closer (within 100') and steadied it with the tow line so they could get a clear head shot when possible. Two of the pirates stuck their head out of the top hatch for air while the third pirate showed his head through the window. This gave our snipers a chance to take them all out at once. Good show!

Sorry Rush, Obama and the US didn't fail this time. And Cheney; once again your assessment is 180 degrees wrong; we are safer. The old order needs to shut up and go away and live off their ill-gotten, tax free, offshore accounts unless they want to join the rest of us in building a better, prosperous, more humane and safer America.

I didn't want to forget to give thanks all the brave Americans that made this all possible. Thank you and great shot!
