Actually, they do report on the Tea Party movement today, though their coverage is damp, at best. But I guess they just couldn't resist reporting on this demonstration below as part of the expected liberal narrative. Funny how they ignore the quote from a key organizer in their own report and pronounce the Tea Party movement partisan.
Curiously, the only organization in Boston re-enacting the original tea party -- the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender group -- was not associated with the partisan movement. But instead of tossing tea bags overboard, it planned to dump federal tax forms into the harbor on Wednesday night to protest the unequal tax treatment of married same-sex couples.
For his part, Mr. Odom insisted that Mr. Obama was not the focus of the outrage, and that government in general was the target.
“This is a protest that has been in government the last few years,” he said. “Bush himself was guilty of socialist policies.”
Update: Jules offers a Tea Party update here.

It’s not out-of-the-question that the 2009 TEA party participants could someday be regarded by history as patriots who made a difference- same as 1773. This sort of public outrage might be just what’s needed to break through the media’s manufactured reality.
And you can believe that Obama and the left are plenty scared of the TEA party movement- how else to explain the dubious timing of his "everything is under control" speech on the economy, and (on the same day before the protests) the wierd DHS report warning of "right-wing" radicals and their propensity to violence? Now ACORN is deploying thugs to confront these protests at the street-level? What's next, bring-in the Crips? Or the next year, the mandatory Obama youth corps or his new, private militia?
Barack Obama is rapidly liquidating everything that made this country great… and needs to be put back-on-his-heels with a major embarrassment that puts an end to the myth that everybody just loves Barack and his wacked-out agenda… because millions of us DON’T.

For something that the liberals claim is just a joke, calling Tea Party protesters "teabaggers", they sure are pulling out all the stops to try and distract from the Tea Party movement. If they really weren't concerned about the Tea Parties they wouldn't pay any attention to them. The very fact that the left is going to such lengths to try and discredit and distract from the Tea Party movement tells me that they are scared and confused. It makes them nervous when they aren't the ones leading the protests.

What was probably the icing on the cake for the tea parties was when Rick Perry, Texas' governor stated that Texas can secede from the union. That will draw a lot of attention but more importantly it sends the message that these movements are serious for such strong words to be used. While the media will say they Texas does not have the right to do this outright (there are some court cases which agree, there are certain paths they can take to get this goal).
While they do not have the right to do this outright, there are certain paths they can take to get this goal. Come on, you know this is possible because this is the same country which gives exceptions to tax cheats through cleaver legal
maneuvers.
Really it is just using the legal system creatively.
Texas probably has the best chance at success. Here is just one way how it can work. The annexation agreement made when Texas joined the union provided that Texas would be able to divide into 5 states. This would create 8 more conservative Senators.
If Texas were to try to divide and be rebuffed, the US would be in violation of the agreement and Texas should be able to go free.
It is not all that far fetched. More here:
