As Moe points out, this isn't the first go round between Obama and the Catholic Church. Caroline Kennedy isn't acceptable as an ambassador due to her position on abortion. It occurs to me that Obama just got done going out of his way to inform Islam he had no intention of insulting or threatening it as a religion. So why the continued insults to Catholicism? It's as if he doesn't care about it as a religion at all.
I am curious about how many times this administration plans to insult the Roman Catholic Church:
I only WISH Obama didn't care about the Catholic Church. I'd be much happier, and rest easier, if he would just ignore us. My paranoid alter ego worries that Obama's end game is to have the government eventually take over Catholic hospitals by forcing medical personnel to perform procedures their consciences dictate they refuse. Bishops have said they will close and not allow the buildings to be used as hospitals so as not to facilitate the evil of abortion. Obama sees property and potential wealth to seize.

Having won a very solid election last November, the pro-choice President of a largely pro-Choice political party also in strong control of both Houses of Congress has the Holy See demanding, I guess, that John McCain had won in November.
'Sall good. If the Vatican doesn't want an American ambassador they don't have to have one.
To answer the question, they'll stop insulting the Vatican when the Vatican stops deserving to be insulted.

I think the only way Catholics can get your support and respect is if they start cutting the heads off of people and threatening to kill anyone who insults Jesus.
Forget about ambassadors, the ones who advocate violence managed to censor South Park. You guys put up such a brave front against religion but in the end, all religion has to do is threaten violence and you liberals will prostate yourselves to religious groups.

Why do we even bother having an Ambassador to Vatican City?
It's really not a country and there is no official US Amabassador to any other religious sect to my knowledge.
Time to end this ridiculous farce. I hope Obama decides to not appoint anyone and save the taxpayers from this waste of money which is obviously only done for political reasons anyway.

The problem is that Mr. Obama probably doesn't know and/or there doesn't exist any well known high ranking dems who are pro life and gave money in sufficient amounts to the Obama campaign to warrant appointment as Ambassador to the Vatican and acceptance by the Vatican of that nominee. This to-do, might have something to do with Mr. Obama's infanticide legislative history and his radical pro abortion record and the lack of a big tent on abortion in the Dem party. Whatever, it's great to see the Vatican not accepting the pro abortion candidates being put forward by Mr. Obama, and especially gratifying to see Caroline and the Kennedys being slapped in the face by the Vatican. A two-fer.
