As many as 13 people have been shot dead and another 26 wounded in a shooting rampage inside an upstate New York civic association building that caters to immigrants, according to federal and state authorities.
The suspect was described as an Asian male in his 20s, between 5-feet 8-inches and 6 feet tall, wearing a bright green nylon jacket and dark-rimmed glasses.
The American Civic Association helps immigrants and refugees with immigration and personal counseling, resettlement, citizenship, family reunification and translators. It also intervenes with emergencies, including fighting, hunger and homelessness, according to information from the association's website.
The ACA had citizenship classes scheduled for today.

I wonder if they mean "Asian" the way British crime-reports have come to mean "Asian"?

I'll bet you 10$ that this shooter was on some form of anti-depressant medication. After hearing about this incident this morning, I went over the history of some of these incidents and posted my findings at my blog.

Every mass shooting I investigated resulted in a killer that was on one form or another (sometimes multiple), anti-depressant medications that are known to have negative side effects of increased depression, and in rare cases psychotic breaks.
Maybe we should stop handing out prozac like candy?

how many more times do we have to read about things like this before we as a society realize that the police cannot stop these attacks and the only chance to stop them lies in armed citizens fighting back against the attackers?

Fighting back is a good thing, being armed as an america is quite another. As many times as i HAVE thougth about that, I have never taken the steps to obtain a gun. Not until my daughter who is 23 just moved into Philadelphia have I considered a move as serious as I do now. Hell yes, being able to defend one's self is the utmost.

If you are going to kill yourself and take down as many people as possible with you, would you try and do it at a Gun Show or an NRA convention? No, you go to a place where you know the people won’t be able to fight back.
