Why be right, when you can be first, or something like that.
CNN: Federal, state and local authorities launched a manhunt for the pilot, who was identified by the FBI as Adam Leon, 31, a native of Turkey who became a Canadian citizen last year, according to FBI spokesman Richard Kolko. He was formerly known as Yavuz Berke, though officials did not indicate a reason for the name change.
CTV: Police then arrested a suspect, identified by the FBI as 31-year-old Yavuz Burke, a native of Turkey who became a Canadian citizen last year. He was formerly known as Adam Leon.

He changed his name from Yavuz to Adam, according to FNC

The first question in anybody's mind is "why did he do it?" No such info is in the article. That kind of thing annoys me. It's like "tune in next week, when we find out what the turkish nutjob was planning!"

Most news and official accounts would have us believe a 31 y.o. male Muslim immigrant is distraught about a lost love and decides to end it all. Of course, he drives to the local airport and happens to find a Cessna 172 fully fueled and ready with the keys in the magneto switch. How lucky for our hero! So he departs on a meandering course until he picks up a couple of F-16s whose attention he has managed to capture, then flys a peculiar route that happens to be precisely magnetic south until imminent fuel starvation forces him to land. He proceeds to the nearest convenience store for a bottle of Gatorade and awaits his ride back into town. When arrested he seems almost giddy with excitement and tells his story about trying to get himself shot down by an F-16. It all just makes so much sense, doesn’t it?

I would like to correct many misconceptions about this incident. Mr. Leon was born in Turkey to a Greek family whose family was Jewish. The keys of these aircraft used to by stored in the aircraft BUT not in the ignition, now they are removed after every flight and brought back inside, a operating procedure that was in the works before this incident but had to be ushered in before all of the kinks were worked out. Mr. Leon was suicidal, he did not pull this stunt for kicks, the whole smiling while he was being arrested sounds like he was mentally disturbed.
End rant
by the way educate yourselves from many sources albeit conservative or liberal, American or Canadian. It will allow you to pick out the actual facts, and the inferences of many different media companies.
