I saw Stacy's start earlier. Don't people ever get tired of unadulterated bullshit that only serves to distract by demonizing one group to leverage another mostly identical group back into power?
I guess not. The democratization of access to information the Internet provides can be the greatest asset democracy has ever known. But to the extent it's simply exploited to herd one's own sheep while maybe filching a few from the other flock, it isn't going to do much of anything positive for America in the end. The battle that needs to be fought isn't Republican v Democrat. It's We the People v those that have been governing. But the path of least resistance and the shortest road to personal benefit may often prove to be too attractive in the end. Too bad.
There are good Democrats, good Republicans and a larger and growing number of even better Independents betwixt and between. Until you have something positive to say to them, you're just wasting time and herding sheep. And justifying it because it pays isn't much of a defense.
Yeah, I'm just in one of my cranky moods.
The Democratic Party is a conspiracy whereby liars advance the cause of evil with the assistance of fools.
Over at AmSpecBlog, Robert Stacy McCain has launched a contest to see who can best describe the Democratic Party in 20 words or less. Considering that I’m a libertarian, I’m sure my entry won’t win — but here goes anyway: Of the big-government political parties, the Democrats are the ones who favor donkeys over elephants.
I’m wondering how other libertarians might describe the Republican Party, too. My entry for the latter contest is pretty much the same: Of the big-government political parties, the Republicans are the ones who favor elephants over donkeys.
