There are a few interesting things going on that don't actually intersect but in combination give me more hope for the GOP than you'll get from reading the headlines today.
Based upon most accounts the Republican Party is imploding. It isn't really. Given where it's been for a few years and with November's significant loss, this is not unexpected.
At the same time a Center-Right coalition based upon the Tea Party concept continues to grow. As an added bonus, the media is now picking up on Obama's big lie about bankruptcies he has been employing to push his Health Care initiative. I pointed that out on Feb 24.
I mention that last bit as Obama's plans for Health Care are only going to energize more Americans to start standing up to say, slow down, or maybe even stop! The GOP in DC lacks the power required to do it in Congress. But Obama and the media can only ignore such calls from the street for so long.
Down the road the Tea Party concept and the GOP will likely come more into alignment because they both have similar goals and each will have something to offer the other. Buck up! Things aren't quite as bad as they might seem. The important thing is to get involved and do what you can for now. And who knows, you might even win 27,599 bucks in the process.

Maybe Limbaugh is available to save your sorry party. You betcha! Palin/Plumber 2012!!
WOLVERINES!!!!!!!!!

The GOP just needs to self-examine and refocus, and is in the process of doing that, just like the Democratic party after the 1994 congressional defeat and the election of Bush 43. The Dems got their act together this time, the GOP will also eventually do so again. It needs to keep its message well defined, well communicated, consistent, and compelling. The party has many factions - from RINO to conservative - all vying for a voice. None should be alienated, as they all have their strategic purposes, but the GOP needs to remember its core values. The Democratic party also has similar left-leaning segmentations, from blue dogs to the socialist fringe. If they can manage clarity of their political voice enough to take the presidency and congress, so can the GOP. They've done it before.
