I read Dreher's explanation for the comment, and it seemed reasonable to me. Just saying.

Yes, but did you read the entire news item, Jana? Sadly the kid is out to lunch, even described as evil by many. She isn't really a reliable source if you ask me.

'train wreck' is a common phrase these days used in this context to mean their life is a mess. There is no sexual intent associated with it. If the author had said "pull a train"- that is a gang rape and would be castigated.
