Andrew Breitbart:
A digital war has broken out, and the conservative movement is losing. Read the comment sections of right-leaning blogs, news sites and social forums, and the evidence is there in ugly abundance. Internet hooligans are spewing their talking points to thwart the dissent of the newly-out-of-power.
We must not let that go unanswered.
... Hugh Hewitt's popular site shut off its comments section because of the success of these obnoxious invaders. Breitbart.com polices nonpartisan newswire stories for such obviously coordinated attacks. Other right-leaning sites such as Instapundit and National Review Online refuse to allow comments, knowing better than to flirt with the online activist left.
LMAO via Instapundit: Raj sez: Lay off Biden’s Daughter.
Via Hot Air: Leave Biden's Daughter alone!!!
Meanwhile Sullivan's commenters descend here because I dared to point out that the current president doesn't think like an American and is steering a course for the Third World.
But few if any of the somewhat Right-leaning stalwarts Breitbart sees himself as speaking to have the balls to say much of anything seriously antagonistic at all. They're happy for whatever crumbs of legitimacy they can gather as they stumble about more worried about their own credibility, than any ideological fight.
Give me a freaking break here, Breitbart. The Right on line doesn't need to be infiltrated. It has long been nurturing the seeds of its own destruction by elevating people who have already swallowed most of the little blue liberal pill of political correctness in a chase for prestige, or cash.
Michelle Malkin is one of the few who has carved out anything resembling a genuine honest franchise on her own blog. And the sad fact I probably shouldn't be pointing out is, if certain recent Limbaugh detractors - see here and here - weren't beholden to her in some fashion, they'd be on a witch hunt for her, as well.
And if you argue against it - prepare to be marginalized to some degree. The Left isn't the Right's worst enemy - the Right, more specifically, the sissies and the mostly pedestrian conservative mouthpieces waiting for their next big scoop via the RNC in our midst, are.
The Right-side of the blogosphere is a snoozefest just waiting for Big Brother to pat them on the head, toss 'em a quarter and tuck them in.

So it was Drews minions again that were screaming "racist".
You do have a way of getting his followers panties in a bunch don't you?
The normal Andrew's points are obvious to anyone that follows you or Michelle.
Don't you remember all of the Move-on crowd the past year that would wait to pounce on anything you or others say and then scream "racist".
The only difference is now they've added "tax cuts for 95% of Americans" and compare Barry's new tax rates to the past when it was already sky high!
You are right, they are a bunch of sissies!

Yes I call Allah on hotair the MSM's bit*h. He aids the left on their attacks on conservatives like Fred, Gov. Palin, and Rush. Ed has his moments but he too has fallen for the PC police. His post on biden's daughter was a LOL moment. Hotair posted post after post on Phelps and his pot smoking, Palin's daughter etc but somehow biden's is offlimits give me a freaking break. Ace's attacks on Rush and his beta male appeal to just say something nicer was a disgrace.
If conservatives/libertians want to take back their government being nice will get you nothing. It is time to take the gloves off call the liars liars, the pedophiles pedophiles and let the chips fall where they may. I am kind of new to your blog have visted before but now I make a habit of visiting once per day. I do not agree with you 100% of the time but it is refreshing to hear someone like you or Rush call out the liberals and the "conservatives" for the idiots they are. keep up the good work.

I'm a liberal, but I want to give you kudos for having a set and letting us post comments. It makes me more interested in reading what you have to say, and who knows, you might convince me of something someday!

Agree with much... Allah, whatever, but I like Ed and find him one of the best minds out there. The fact that for years he often blogged from hospitals while caring for his wife underscores that he has appreciation for the important things in life. My head spins, however, when he compliments The Moderate Voice which is as cliche ridden as they come. And Jazz Shaw, supposedly on the right, is worse than Allah.

For years I have believed that there are individuals and groups who think we are "afraid" of them because we are truly the live and let live types. We prefer peace and harmony. We try to get along. (I think we've tried too hard but that's another matter.)
I think it will be quite a shock when in reality many people who when pushed to their limit or beyond demonstrate that their bite is much worse than their bark. Sort of the waking "a sleeping giant," filling him with "a terrible resolve" lesson from history.
Of course, I could be all wrong.

I have been excluded from at least a half-dozen leftist blogs, the webmaster denying access to my commenting after I in each case MERELY DISAGREED WITH their completely biased inaccurate commentary. On one second-rate junkyard of ideas called Newshoggers, I simply deconstructed and added expert commentary on Syria concerning the Israeli demolition of an Iranian-run reactor site by a bombing raid. I pointed out the many technical, geographical and politically obtuse errors and was banned from commenting henceforward. On another hilariously named The Moderate Voice, I was threatened with expulsion for noting that the site had become just another leftist chatterbox party-line [in more ways than one] and I made a rude comparison between the moderator and his former professional skill. [A ventriloquist]
It's apparent that if you stray from JournoList or other commentariat CW on the left, they will simply not let you comment. Their ideas are pitiful and they use the reductionist or other ad absurdum arguments to hammer at any commenter employing common sense or an opinion other than the Party Line of the moment. I have seen countless "conservative" types like Excitable Andy fall off the wagon [remember when Arianna wasn't an attention whore looking for open mikes and occasionally made fun of Bill Clinton's serial felonious infractions? I do.] and become heresiarchs among their special little communities.
The reason almost all lefty blogs are finicky about signing up and quick to expel are obvious. They rely on what their heroes Goebbels and Vyshinsky and other totalitarian or authoritarian statists and elitists always do. Shouting down and if they can, elimination one way or another from their dull consciousness.
The left is awash with cowards and their hatred of the USA betrays that fact in myriad ways. All the while as they pound their scrawny chests bravely "speaking truth to power." You don't see them insulting nasties like Putin or Chavez or Arab terrorists [a word they richly deserve] because these people might retaliate in an ugly fashion. Sen. Pat Moynihan had that as a "rule" for journalistic cowards, which the craven cringing lefties do toward those nasties they are afraid to call on the carpet.

There is a coordinated assault on right-of-center blogs, and we should be coordinating to the extent of being aware of who is doing this.
That said, the comment sections of blogs ain't what they used to be, you know what I mean? Now that everyone has a blog, the comment sections don't bring much intellectual heft to the conversation.
We do need more people with balls and less worried about offending or carrying the moral high ground. If I remember correctly - Custer had the high ground, right up to the end.

Somebody in the leftward blogosphere is systematically identifying and coordinating review of and commentary on conservative blogs. We need to identify who is doing it and how, and we need to expose them.
I discovered this on my own blog when I received a small flood of visits from a lefty site called "sadlyno.com." A commenter there was inviting readers on the site to visit my blog and observe something I wrote that he felt was especially silly. From specific details in his description of my blog, it was apparent he'd been reading it systematically for at least a year, even though he clearly felt contempt for my opinion. Why would he do that, unless assigned? This has been repeated several times. My blog is not large; I get a few hundred hits a day. But apparently, it's large enough to warrant at least one, assigned lefty observer.
You may dismiss Breitbart if you like, but really we should not shoot our own side. He's drawing attention to something real, and it has to happen if we're ever to escape the PC prison you've described so aptly here.

"Boo hoo. Your crazy-ass fascist wingnut blogs INVENTED comment censorship. Must be tough to taste your own medicine."
Uh... right. So, how'd your comment get here?
Your charge is as intellectually robust, and as relevant, as the charges from millions of crazed left-wingers that the Bush administration was reinventing Nazi Germany -- who knew perfectly well that they would suffer no repercussions whatsoever by saying so, even though they wholeheartedly believed what they were saying. Cognitive dissonance of this magnitude is an astounding thing.
Anybody with an ounce of objectivity knows that rightward blogs are usually balanced in their editorial policies, excluding only viciousness and banality, whereas leftward blogs consistently filter for content. You might find an occasional exception, but that's the usual pattern.
Also, rightward commentators, even when insulting the left, usually have provable substance in their comments, whereas leftists simply spew hatred. This, also, is a fairly consistent pattern.
Any decent person reading a wide range of blogs knows who the good guys are, and who the immoral pariahs are. It's pretty obvious that the pariahs are running the White House.

I'm going to double down on Plumb Bob's comment. The Democratic Underground does not allow anyone but progressives, and has actually banned some for their disagreement.
Try posting at Kos as a conservative. Almost every one of the Top 20 liberal blogs requires one to register. I have had comments wacked at Crooks and Liars, as well as a few others. I was banned from Kerry's presidential forum 3 times for daring to want to discuss John Kerry, rather then the Evil George Boooooosh.
The way I look at it, debate and even disagreement is healthy between conservatives, something that is rarely practiced on the left. We are honest in our opinions, and we tend to stick to them, rather then drinking any kool aid from the Party. I've got into it with one conservative website for being a jerk to a 14 year old kid, then defended the same site from another at a later time.
I've banned a few of the high toned leftists who leave troll droppings at my little site.
Without trying to appear to start a flame war, Dan, but, not all of us are sheeple. Heck, I typically feature a half black president on my Friday Surrender Monkey posts.

you guys are a joke
Posted by: LOL | Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:07 AM
LOL demonstrates the usual level of leftist analysis here. Let's look at this "joke" he claims we are.
Dan Riehl here takes Andrew Breitbart and other conservatives to task for being too polite to leftists, while leftists routinely and systematically trash conservative sites with hateful comments. Riehl provides an instance of leftists flooding his site with genuinely hateful stuff. Breitbart, for all that he's whining, points out several, deliberate astroturfing campaigns in which participants call selected sites or shows, LIE about who they are, LIE about what they think, in order to INVENT THE APPEARANCE of a grassroots campaign. This has been going on for the better part of a decade.
LOL doesn't even address Riehl's argument. He's arguing against Breitbart's editorial -- which Riehl trashed. And what's his complaint about Breitbart? For about a month in 2008, the McCain campaign solicited commenters to go post comments about McCain. Honestly. Representing themselves as who they are. For one month. I mean, my God, nobody's ever done that in a political campaign before -- send people to talk up the campaign.
Wow. I guess that means we're full-blown, dishonest astroturf warriors just like the lefties. We are such a joke.
LOL, just for once, I'd like to see a leftist actually think through what they're saying BEFORE hurling an insult. It would encourage me that they still, at some level, belong to the human race.

Long before Obama, for my own personal amusement, I would enjoy "infiltrating" wacko sites like Free Republic and LGF and creating dissension in the ranks of the true believers by introducing foreign elements like truth and logic.
I'm thrilled to hear it's annoying the hell out of the wingnuts. I may just have to dedicate more time and effort to what had been a casual hobby.
Now, how do I get paid for what I had been doing for free?
Will it be similar to the wingnut welfare provided by subsidized sites like The Corner, Human Events, NewsBusters, Big Hollywood and until the money ran out, Pajamas Media?
Posted by: Joe Isuzu | Monday, March 30, 2009 at 12:15 PM
I see Breitblart as a ludicrous buffoon only useful for pointing and laughing at but he's dead on with his accusation that the left has long been infiltrating conservative strongholds and kicking conservative ass. One way we do this is to show up pretending to be conservatives and saying the most paranoid and hateful things we can think of when there's a suitable opportunity to do so. We do it to make right wing blog visitors look terrible. Remember that time those guys hung those little electric signs up in Boston and everyone freaked out thinking they were bombs? I was all over righty blogs sowing conspiracy theories. First I said it had to be Al Qaeda and got a bunch of commenters to crap themselves and follow along. Worked them into a frenzy. When the signs turned out to be harmless I was ready and left hundreds of comments under various names saying that it was a test run designed to allow the terrorists to observe our emergency response procedures and that this was no time to stop being afraid. Of course it came out that it was just an advertising campaign so I changed direction completely and blamed it on Ted Turner and George Soros and waited for my check to show up. Also you know how every time there's a school or church shooting and a bunch of commenters at conservative blogs start in on the victims while their bodies are still warm, heartlessly calling them all a bunch of cowards for not going all Rambo on the shooter and they'd totally have taken him out with a textbook or laptop if they were there? That's always me. And whenever Jeff Godlstein is criticized by some liberal blogger and what seems like a flood of people show up to slavishly and viciously defend him, threatening to out people and challenging them to fights in the real world? Guess who? Yep. I have so many million of sockpuppets that I pride myself on never using the same pseudonym twice.

You know why lefties wreck your comments threads?
Because reality has a liberal bias.

"Because reality has a liberal bias."
It's funny how the ones who are saying that are always the ones trying to explain why tax cheats should be prosecuted and punished, but only if they don't belong to the Obama Party.
Tell us, feckless, why do you and your fellow Obama Party members support tax cheats? Before, you were saying that people who committed tax fraud should not only be removed themselves, but that the people who put them in administration positions should resign. Why won't you follow through?

I'm going to be more polite here than I'm tempted to be.
First, I'm not a Limbaugh detractor, and for you to claim I am shows you know nothing about me or my site.
Second of all, your claim that Allahpundit and I would be on a "witch hunt" for Michelle Malkin if we weren't "beholden" to her is just absurd.
The only one of the three of us who ever mistreated Michelle Malkin is you, as you no doubt recall.
