Harry Reid calls Chief Justice Roberts a liar. Althouse wants proof. I guess Harry didn't get the Bench memo from retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor in 2006:
"I'm increasingly concerned about the current climate of challenge to judicial independence,"O'Connor told a gathering of state judges from around the country Friday."Unhappiness with judges today is at a very intense level."
The judiciary is the weakest of the three branches of government, she said, and therefore the one with"the greatest need to be defended."
The executive and legislative branches have become the attackers, so"the principal defenders are going to have to be the people of this country,"with lawyers taking the lead, she said.

Prince Harry calling someone a liar, now that's priceless!
Roberts has more class stuck to his used underwear than Harry has in his whole body!
The man is a living skid mark!

This is something new I think, Barney Frank attacking Scalia as a homophobe and now Reid calling Roberts a liar. There was a time when this sort of thing just didn't happen. I don't remember politicians going after Supreme Court justices in this way in the past. One has to wonder sometime. What is the goal? Why would the Senate Majority Leader call the Chief Justice a liar? I wonder if he hopes to erode all confidence in the Court or encourage people to feel free to disregard Court decisions. Maybe he and Frank are hoping something will happen to these guys. Frank actually talked around that a little bit, something about "until we can get Scalia out of there." Strange and disturbing behavior coming out of Washington these days. These people have all lost any sense of their place or purpose. How did we get to this, I just don't know.
