It seems the JournoList has gone public with a thread that calls Marty Peretz a racist in its actual title. And then there's this:
From: Brad DeLong
But in this fallen world? In which... ahem... Marc Ambinder holds up Andrew Sullivan as a sterling example of intellectual integrity?
How does one react to this nonsense, as I haven't before this? It's hard to know as it is as childish and silly, as it is dangerous. If an allegedly smart bunch of liberal pundits and strategists need to spend any real amount of time engaging in this type of adolescent back-patting and invective spewing, it's impossible to make the case that they deserve to be taken seriously, or have any character at all.
They end up all looking like a bunch of small-minded, weaselly people you find yourself mixing with socially on occasion - ones that leave you racing home to take a good bath. I assume they've all graduated high school, too bad they weren't able to leave what must have been such a pivotal, though tragic experience behind.

I guess the successor to Pravda up on the Hudson wasn't absurdly moronically leftist enuf and a salad of Jewish Ivy-boy political commissars [with a couple of goys thrown in for seasoning] now was publishing the party line sub rosa [until outed] with lil Ezra K. as the Interior Ministry's chief apparatchik. Call it the [Eastern] Europeanization of our MSM.
Ann Althouse was attacked for mentioning these treasonouls lizards' ethnic background. Guess their sensitive [except for their hatred of Israel] about this background.

These guys strike me as the kind who would have been first to wave their hands and yell "Pick me! Pick me!" for Sonderkommando duty in the camps. They should buy "The Gray Zone" DVD and be forced to watch it over...and over...and over....

Unlike the very serious, composed Limbaugh and Steele, right?

Please include the context--which is Betsy McCaughey's TNR article, and Sullivan's claim that he "knew its flaws" but published it anyway to "provoke" (rather tha, say, to inform or enlighten).
Your reputation for treating people and issues fairly is in the final analysis the only thing you have. Don't casually throw it away...

"Don't casually throw it away..."
Brad - I didn't pretend to analyze the List, whatever its many threads might be, or render a fully final verdict. I've ignored it until now. What I read seemed small-minded and childish on many fronts, especially so as there was apparently some need for secrecy. We can all be small-minded at times. But I do wonder if such a list didn't encourage it to some extent.
Ultimately, that is most likely for some of its members to decide.

Sullivan's Trig Palin disorder/paranoia is difficult to explain

I read some of the Journolist stuff on Kaus but had to give it up. I was having truly nightmarish flashbacks of 9th grade. I never saw such a bunch of petty, narcissistic girly men (and butch women - Pollitt) in my life as that bunch. Statists really are children.

Hey Peg, I hear you! Liberal men are all faggots and liberal women are all dykes!
