So, if Pelosi is allegedly so dumb, how is it she seems smarter than the current RNC Chair and the GOP's House Whip here?
Asked about the right-wing talk-radio king the other day, Pelosi said: “I don’t speak to that. I’m the speaker of the House. I don’t get into the popular culture.”
I know what both Steele and Cantor are trying to do below. But they and other GOP members continue to fall into the trap of having a debate on the opposition's terms. No matter how you slice it, you end up giving them the quotes they want. That isn't how you win debates in sound bite politics today. You control the debate, or you lose. This is not rocket science people. Buy a clue!
STEELE: So let’s put it into context here. Let’s put it into context here. Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh, his whole thing is entertainment. Yes, it’s incendiary. Yes, it’s ugly.
Speaking on ABC's This Week, House Republican Whip Eric Cantor said he disagreed with Limbaugh's comments. "And I don't — I don't think anyone wants anything to fail right now.
We have such challenges. What we need to do is we need to put forth solutions to the problems that real families are facing today."
Blah, blah, blah: "Look, I'm here to discuss substantive issues, not entertainment because that's not my job. Putting forward good solutions in tough times is. Do you have a serious question, or do you want to waste my and the people's time?"
It isn't hard, folks!

This only proves what Rush was saying - the GOP needs to choose the right candidate and Steele and Cantor have just proved that they aren't the right ones to lead the GOP. They simply don't get it.

I would suggest to my interviewer that I hadn't heard the full context-
would he be willing to supply it for me?
I would also suggest that I was unfamiliar with limbaugh's specific policies-could the reporter summarize them for me? with actual quotes.
At some time, or the other, the reporter would have to admit to being very familiar with rush and his ideas, at which point, the conservative in question could ask about specifics, OR the reporter will start to back off pleading ignorance.
(limbaugh is on at noon eastern, and I'd venture a guess that more than 100 dem and gop pols are listening in DC.)

Limbaugh is your guy, huh? A thrice divorced, drug addicted sex tourist? He is your guy? Wow, you folks are as bad as they say. Palin/Plumber 2012! Wolverines!!! You all make me laugh.

"drug addicted"
didn't obama admit to be coked out during the last major recession 79-82?
the years coincide with his final high school year and his entrance to college, where he, himself, has admitted to using cocaine in his biography.
"You all make me laugh."
you are indicting someone's character based on divorce? should it be illegal?

speaking of sex tourists...

I thought the Larry sinclair stuff was over, but it appears the UK is pursuing the matter.
apparently, michelle obama wasn't troubled by his use of the crack pipe. The same cannot be said by his addiction to the 'flesh' pipes.
no chance she was merely crying over the realization that obama fathered a child by his senate finace director, vera baker. on the bright side, he pulled it off without getting a divorce.

Pelosi lives in her own fantasy land. She is clueless.
No more Spending. Write congress and tell them ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
VOTE NO OR OUT YOU GO. www.congress.com

Franklin D. Roosevelt blasted the Republican incumbent for spending and taxing too much, increasing national debt, raising tariffs and blocking trade, as well as placing millions on the dole of the government. Roosevelt attacked Hoover for "reckless and extravagant" spending, of thinking "that we ought to center control of everything in Washington as rapidly as possible," and of leading "the greatest spending administration in peacetime in all of history." Roosevelt's running mate, John Nance Garner, accused the Republican of "leading the country down the path of socialism".

hmmm...Does this mean I can call the messiah, barack 'hoover' obama?

Mark the blame for this mess goes to Republican policies and the Bush/Cheney Administration. Take your blinders off.

Also Mark, maybe you should cancel your subscription to the Globe. It's not making you any smarter.

Since nobody defended Rush Limbaugh - as opposed to striking out at your President - I guess my words stand as true. The leader of your stoopid, uninformed, gullible group of nazi's is Rush. He is your guy. Why is he your guy? Any particular reason? So you have gone through Palin, Plumber, Coulter, beck, oreilly, romney, guliani, kerik, dooce, etc...Then to top it all off, you end up supporting Limbaugh? A thrice divorced, drug addicted sex tourist? He is your guy? Wow, you folks are as bad as they say. Palin/Plumber 2012! Wolverines!!! You all make me laugh.
Listen Up! You folks make the planet scared to even come to America. You nutjobs are off the deep end - and you know it. You follow Limbaugh for Jeebus sakes - LIMBAUGH! That is truly, TRULY the best you could do? The GOP is a small cult - devoted to keeping education from YOUR CHILDREN, and prosperity away from YOUR COUNTRY. Please grow some spine. America needs you clear headed right now - not sniffing up Limbaughs shorts. YOU FOLKS REALLY MAKE ME LAUGH - At You!

Have two questions for liberals, 1. Can you name any poor person or poor company that has given you a job or employment vs a rich person or rich company? 2. Have any of you spent your way out of bankrupcy or job loss by going to the bank and borrowing 3Xs what your current debt was without showing the banker how you were going you pay it back? If it has never happened out here in the US outside of the government how the hell do you expect the "O" to pull it off?

Jumbo the teacher going to be mad at you again for being on the computor again. Also it has been my experence in life the ones who make snide commemts about people based on huff-po, kool kos kids, and du are idiots.
Posted by: 13yankeebravo | Monday, March 02, 2009 at 05:35 PM
All insults, no valid points. Again, just what Joe the Plumber and Sarah palin are all about. Nothing of substance, none of the time from you folks. Your country needs you to turn away from the GOP. Your country needs your clarity and maturity right now - not just parroting Limbaughs words. The entire planet knows Limbaugh owns your party and you know it too. Limbaugh is rich - he doesn't care about you. All of your heros DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! They only care about their own empires - nothing else. THEY DON"T CARE ABOUT YOU! Do you care about your country?
Stop the insults, kids. Your children are watching you. They expect you to grow up - please do.
The GOP are the 'serious' bunch? A serious bunch of degenerate losers.

pew did a study of audiences...
limbaugh listeners held over 150% more knowledge than msnbc watchers.
kinda puts a kibosh on the 'uninformed' thingy.

seriously,
jumbo, theresea-
you guys are a little panicky. I can't understand why that would happen...
you take a country, a world for that matter, on the brink of financial apocalypse, and announce that while it has been run, as you would admit, as a capitalistic form of govt- then have the messiah announce that the capitalism is coming to an end, in favor of socialism...
The market is going to go lower. The private companies are going to lay off millions, along with the small business owners, and all that capitalism, that was going to fund your socialism, is dead and gone(until another reagan comes along).
what a 'brave, new world'.

Note to Jumbo: Whatever else Rush is, he is a natural born American citizen. Can you (honestly) say the same about Obama?
I didn't think so.

he pulled it off without getting a divorce.
Pulled it "off," or pulled it "out?" ;-)
