I realize it's early but don't fool yourself into thinking liberals and Democrats are content to sit on their current lead when it comes to political representation in DC. They're still on offense and they intend to go right at key conservatives.
I just got an e-mail from a person wanting to make Jim DeMint's re-election bid a little harder. Mr. Jackie Hammond of Chesterfield has a blog named Target 2010 - Democratic Senator for SC.
McCain beat Obama by 9 in 2008 in SC. But as DeMint has developed a reputation as a solid Conservative (one of too few in DC, I'm afraid) the Left had their eye on him as early as Jan 21st. Now he's fighting back with Club 2010. Yes, conservatives need to re-group and come back. But we also can't afford to lose solid conservatives we've already got. DeMints main website is here.
