Andrew Sullivan takes up the cause for Chas Freeman. Judge that however you might. But in so doing, his final sentence is something of a hoot. I guess Freeman can relax unless he's ever had an unmarried daughter with child. Obviously hysterical bullying would be absolutely fine in that case as far as Andy is concerned.
And I find the hysyerical(sic) bullying of this man to be repulsive.

"Tragically, despite all the advantages and opportunities Israel has had over the fifty-nine years of its existence, it has failed to achieve concord and reconciliation with anyone in its region, still less to gain their admiration or affection."
Take a good look at the above.
Israel "has had", not "has made for herself"----"it has failed" as though achieving concord with one's enemies is as easy as winnig the Cold War, or demilitarising the Korean peninsula---and ditto for "gain their admiration and affection"---like the affections of Canada and Cuba and Europe and Russia have been gained by the USA!
Words matter, Barry! And if these words are anything to go by, your NIE will soon be blaming Israel, rather then George Bush, for the travails of this world!
Do something right, Barry! Ditch Freeman!
