From Hot Air to Newsweek making the case that we are more or less a socialist country already. The problem is, they don't mention health care. By the time we're done "fixing" that along with entitlements per below, I imagine US government spending as a percent of GDP will rival France's. That'll make us more French then France by their measure. Must be those damned Freedom Fries coming back on us.
A decade ago U.S. government spending was 34.3 percent of GDP, compared with 48.2 percent in the euro zone—a roughly 14-point gap, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. In 2010 U.S. spending is expected to be 39.9 percent of GDP, compared with 47.1 percent in the euro zone—a gap of less than 8 points. As entitlement spending rises over the next decade, we will become even more French.

It seems that all of the focus has been on the union, ACORN, Move-On, payback act and the drive to socialism by the troll king!
There is nothing being said of the bitch slapping he's taking from the Russian's, Iranian's, North Koreans and others the past month. His Capitulation, America Bad speech on the islamic interview is seen in Iran and Saudi Arabia for what it was, a sign of weakness! His tone spits in the face of all of the positive efforts to foster a Democratic Iraq. I'm sure those poor free Iraqi's miss being tossed in the woodchippers!
We are ticking down to a serious foreign policy nightmare that will be exploited by the weakness demonstrated in his interview and his actions. Looks like Biden was right for once in his life! He is being tested!
The problem is this guy is more of a Neville Chamberlain than a Winston Churchill!

It can be argued that a vast majority of the American people support a lurch towards socialism, at least pertaining to universal health care. The 2008 elections partly served as a proxy for that, with health care being a major issue.
The poll results bear out the sentiment of the public on this issue: (http://www.angus-reid.com/polls/view/15715)

Very good Todd....I may even be among those 64% myself if I was a part of the majority of that "majority" that pays no taxes. Send me your banking info and see how willing I am to spend your money.
