The Obama administration has unceremoniously and without explanation withdrawn an offer to retired Marine Gen. Anthony Zinni to be U.S. ambassador to Iraq. Gee, did they just wake up and realize it might not be a good idea to appoint the General to a country that just went through a war we've mostly won when said General opposed the war all along? Or did they just realize that a loose canon like Zinne who tried to sabotage Bush with help from the Democrats would likely get just as much pleasure in trashing Obama if they ever disagree and he was given the chance?

Atleast they avoided a potential disaster in Zinni's case before he was formally appointed. Given Obama's other appointments, I guess we can chalk that up as change.
Zinni probably has tax problems...

Dang, I'm kinda missing our lefty friends......would love to see them defend some of these things. For instance harpie; "it's ok to waste money on STD prevention and who cares about tax cheats? the wiki entry has the nyt expressing issues with his work for defense contractors, post military. I'm sure the obama admin understood that it might be an issue.
I think the problem for Zinni was the amount of cash he received for his 'consulting' services.
4 star talent? in defense contracts that are worth billions?
his compensation must have been obscene.

Obama's the sitting POTUS now, and it will be as impossible to unseat him over some minor paper work technicality as it would have been to convince most GOP'ers during the primary to have voted for their liberty by supporting and voting for Dr. Ron Paul.

The man has AWFUL judgement. Probably because he believes he is intelligent.
He isn't very intelligent. He hasn't earned a thing in his life. He didn't get into Columbia nor Harvard via MERIT.
