See, now I'm okay with this. While I doubt a heavy social con could win outside of maybe PA, I do think solid fiscal conservatives can win across the map, if they're good candidates. And I'd almost rather have the opposition in a seat, as opposed to an alleged friend you just can't trust.
When Collins speaks, I'm always tempted to call 911 so someone can get out there quick with a valium, or something. And she sounds somewhere between vapid and an empty suit. Snowe mostly hid out through the whole thing. As for Specter, just watch the video below - then tell me this guy belongs in the Senate. He has to go.
A GOP group is putting Republican lawmakers "on notice," threatening to campaign against anyone who breaks ranks to vote for the more than $800 billion economic recovery package.
The National Republican Trust PAC put out a statement Tuesday claiming it would provide financial support for primary challengers to any stimulus-supporting Republican in the next election.
"Republican Senators are on notice," the group's director Scott Wheeler said in a statement. "If they support the stimulus package we will make sure every voter in their state knows how they tried to further bankrupt voters in an already bad economy."
h/t HotAir ... Now he's whining about rushing it through?? Idiot.

Any so-called Republican, let me repeat that, ANY SO-CALLED REPUBLICAN that voted FOR this bill needs to be removed from office and forced to change their political affiliation. They are NOT Republicans, they are nothing more than RINOs, Republicans In Name Only!

These Senators are living Zombies!
They are dead politically they just don't know it yet!
I plan to back the efforts of the party to send these tools packing.
They are being used. They claimed that they were "saving" $100 billion. The reality is that this money will be returned in spades in future spending bills!
These RINO's must go. The 2010 election will be a major house cleaning like 1994. Newt's revolution will be repeated in the next cycle.
It may take longer to clean up the Senate but there will be major changes coming thanks to the Socialist God King Xerxes!

Arlen Specter looked like a total idiot-and my apologies to all idiots for comparing them to Specter

Arlen Spector: the Republican with brains and empathy. A rare find.

Senator Lickspittle, please do the honest thing and get a (D) put after your name.

He's actually the functionally retarded equal of a Democrat according to those standards If one thinks voting for a bill not read is brains. THis will backfire on every politician who votes without all the details.

I've heard tough talk like that above countless times in the past, and what ends up happening is the challenger ends up being someone the GOP leadership doesn't want. So, they end up supporting the incumbent, and it boils down to a choice between two evils with most Republicans then forgetting their previous comments and voting for the "zombie".
If anyone wants to actually do something about this now, push the plan at my name's link. That involves asking those who support the plan very difficult questions about what they support and then uploading video of their response to Youtube. If you don't want to push that plan, come up with something better.
If you don't actually do something, you're just screaming at the wind.

This is likely to be an unpopular view here, but I think the GOP needs RINOs to a degree -- despite their sometimes unpopular votes. They are useful in districts/states such as Maine, where it is difficult if not impossible for true conservatives to win elections, and the alternative is usually a very left leaning liberal Democrat. I'd rather have someone I agree with some of the time than someone (like Obama) that I would seldom if ever agree with.
In case you are wondering, I grew up in upstate NY (although I am currently overseas in Singapore), which is largely GOP territory. I don't mind guys like Giuliani or Bloomberg if they ever ran for governor, senate, etc. I'd prefer them over Schumer, Clinton and Paterson any day.

I really wonder what Snarlin' Arlen, Snowestorm and Cashin' Collins got to turn their backs on the rest of the party. The country would be better served if they caucused with the D's. That way, the country could get a belly full and puke these bastards out of office during the next election.
Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al are all communists ... ONE TERM OBAMA AND THEN WE CAN TOSS YOU AND ALL OF THE JERKS THAT ARE CRAFTING THE CRAPULUS BILL ON TO THE TRASH HEAP OF HISTORY AS THE WORTHLESS PIECE OF CRAP THAT YOU ARE!!!

Specter sounds like he voted for a Bill he didn't read. He deserves to be defeated next election.

The only $$ any political org. is getting from me in the next few years will be to defeat Dem Lite Republicans. We have Bush to thank for Specter's last win but that won't happen next time. Every squish needs to be annihilated.
Collins and Snowe are typical females and that is no compliment. Those 2 cows need putting out to pasture with all haste.

Then consider joining and giving your contributions to the Constitution Party.

Given the collusion of the GOP with the extreme left, it is time for true conservatives to give their voice, power, and finances to TRUE conservative statesmen who will bring this country back to its core principles and the rule of the Constitution.

Some of you posters had better get a grip...Collins,Snowe, and Spector are from blue states that Obama won. You didn't complain about these three when the Republicans were in the majority, so don't whine about them now.
