Update: What's the line on when he resigns?
Blago said a Senate seat was "golden." Now it seems he wanted even more than cash in exchange.
Daley and Blago's controversial project - O'Hare Airport expansion? Guess who had a change of heart when he assumed the Senate seat of Barack Obama? Yep, our man Burris, of course. We're talking major Union payola opportunities here, as well, I imagine. This has been a big deal in Chicago politics for some time.
Before Burris was appointed by Blago:
He told WBBM- AM's "At Issue" program, "I'm not looking for expansion because I don't think residents of the surrounding community want that.”
He said he “could not support a plan that displaces O'Hare neighbors.”
Papers wrote that his stance “against the expansion of O'Hare International Airport could help” Burris win a previous election
The mayor of Elk Grove Village (a town being affected by the expansion) told papers before Burris’ switch that, "a lot of residents of Elk Grove Village have been high on Roland Burris and Pat O'Malley," and added that Burris was one of “only two candidates who've stood up and told us they stand with us."
And after: plus another relevant link to explore.
At the same time, Burris said he would support the expansion of O’Hare International Airport, a pet project of Mayor Richard Daley, after staking out an ambivalent position when he ran for mayor in 1995.
Oh, I don't know. He doesn't look to have been too "ambivalent" when he opposed it, or now, when he supports it. It's the Chicago way!

Chicago way....crooks, mobsters, liars, thieves, and general toliet scum. All of them.
