Instapundit posts word that Obama does not want the Fairness Doctrine back. Great.
That makes him look like quite the moderate. But the actual doctrine was always a stretch. Get back to me in 3-6 months after we see what his FCC does in terms of "localism."
That's always been the play more likely to get done. Until I hear something from the FCC, the WH release is what I'm growing accustomed to with Obama: just words.
Senior FCC staff working for acting Federal Communications Commissioner Michael Copps held meetings last week with policy and legislative advisers to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman to discuss ways the committee can create openings for the FCC to put in place a form of the “Fairness Doctrine” without actually calling it such.

It was never legistlatable(is that a real word?).
Imagine the networks doing a documentary on 9/11, and the conspiracy nuts demand a representative amount of time for their views. Do you let rosie o'donnell host a full hour counter argument, or provide her only half an hour to conspiracy for every hour of documentary?

Yep. With the local content rules and the local community advisory boards in place they wont need no STINKING FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. And its all for the children anyway. Cant go against all the public school Mindspeak,,,Er..,Education and all about how we all need to work and play and think like one.Um, or is that the "One"?

You right wing conservative entertainers, calling you journalists is a stretch, need to move on to the next conspiracy theory to attach Obama to. What a joke. Sean Hannity talking like he's Charlton Heston, "they'll have to rip the mic from my cold, dead hands!" PLEASE! Get over it, YOU LOST. So what, now attack Obama at all costs even if it makes you look downright ridiculous!

That's just fine, because he's not selling it. How appropriate that the vanquished ideology so quickly becomes the poster-child for victimization. That's some 'world view' ya got there. Grow a pair already.

It's become clear that Obama says whatever will disarm his critics at the moment and then he goes ahead and does what he wants. Remember the five days that the public was going to be free to examine the Pork Pie bill? Right now it serves him to say he is against the Fairness Doctrine. We now have to wait to see if this is true. I would not trust him on any statement he makes.

"YOU LOST?" He's right....we did all lose. We lost when a light weight inexperienced disengenous socialist Jimmy Carter wannabee got elected with the help of corrupt nazi brown shirt (ACORN) election tactics. But we did win some things. We now see parts of a leftist media that now is running itself into ground (New York Times) and probably won't be around at the end of the year. Their stock price is now less than the cost of their two bit third world newspaper. Let the left hang themselves. They have always done a good job of that and Obama is making great strides already toward doing just that.

Oh No..... Now you have to come up with another conspiracy theory to scare your readers. Well, I take that back, you can go on using the Fairness Doctrine. They are just dumb enough to continue listening.
