Well, here we go. That makes four such moves. Jimmy Hoffa is thrilled, does that mean we should be? At least he's looking out for someone, as well as his re-election effort. OpenMarket.org calls it a "large gift" to organized labor.
WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama has issued an executive order backing the use of union labor for large-scale federal construction projects.
It is the fourth union-friendly executive order that Obama has signed since he's been in office.

I know it is a little early, but attention must be paid. Therefore I am starting a list for whichever Repub wins the presidential election of 2012. Obama is taking the first steps to control salaries in the public sector. And, as Dan points out in the post above, he plans to handicap many non-union firms seeking government contracts, a new kind of affirmative action that will add costs to the few remaining persons paying taxes, seemingly all Republicans and independents. Why do I say that? Because another rat bites the dust:
"Al Franken Admits $50,000 Tax Debt
(Friday, February 6, 2009 2:39 PM
By: Ronald Kessler
Overlooked in coverage of Tim Geithner’s and Tom Daschle’s unpaid taxes is the $70,000 that Minnesota Democratic senatorial candidate Al Franken has admitted to owing in back taxes, interest, and penalties.
Last April, the California Tax Franchise Board revealed that Franken owed the state $5,800 in taxes, fines, and penalties because he did not file returns in 2003 through 2007. Franken then admitted that he owed more than $50,000 in back taxes to 17 states.
Franken blamed everything on his accountant of 18 years, saying he failed to report the income from the comedian’s celebrity appearances and speeches in those states where he made money outside of Minnesota and New York, where he lives."
DRAFT LIST
Soooooo, the next Repub President should get busy right after the inauguration on these Objectives:
(1)Rescind Obama's kingly and seemingly unconstitutional diktats regarding private sector salaries and government contracts.
(2)Work with Congress to ensure every single adult American and foreign worker in America pays an income tax with real U.S.currency. The minimum amount should be no less than $20,000. Too much you say? No. Because by 2013 $20K will be worth the same as $20 is today, due to the inflation stimulus bill.

"Thank you for standing up for hard-working Americans President Obama!" (WHO ARE MEMBERS OF UNIONS)
unions-16.7% of the labor force.
the other 83.3% of non-union workers surely won't mind obama playing favorites.

mark, don't forget most union members are government employees.

This bill will represent the largest tax bill ever imposed outside of a standard budget.
There is irony to be found in the fact that the subsequent generations will be paying for what even democrats, today, have described as 'less than perfect' is just too rich.
The democrats have always been keen on telling us, 'it's for the children'. Does anyone think they'll have the good manners of telling us now that our children will be stuck with the bill?
Why are democrats taxing children for their own, immediate, political posterity?

"don't forget most union members are government employees."
I was looking at the breakdown of federal, state, and local employees.
it seems to be 2%, 4%, and 8% respectively. If this bill is heavy on increasing the size of the federal govt-(the one entity that cannot make money) the long term implication is that the non-governmanetal employees will have to produce more, with less of a % of the work force, to provide for jobs that do not create national wealth.
c'mon worker productivity...

25 percent of New York State workers are unionized.

ahhh new york...
500k pay cap for executives? go ahead. Personally, I'd rather be pulling in 8% off 3 million dollars of income, than 45% of 500k.

I never figured out the logistics of a 500k salary cap on executives working at bailout companies?
If they have a European branch, are those employees affected as well?
are foreigners working in the US companies so restricted?
If they ever get this thing running 'effectively', most execs will be given the option of becoming a citizen of another country and being compensated in the millions, while paying lower taxes or getting 500k in salary, paying more than 250k in taxes.
How much is US citizenship worth?
not 10 million.
good to see obama willing to export from our largest source of govt income-the top of the bracket, for the sake of other nations.

Too funny!!
All those poor sheep that were led to the liberal slaughter. They brainlessly bought the Soro's media darling puppet as some kind of saviour! Now they are starting to realize what enpowering a ego-maniac and 300 other socialist's is going to do to this country!
We are now promised a future where preaching "doom and gloom" and ruining the free market system that has kept this country strong for more than 200 years is the norm!
A little over 300 elected politicians can completely change the face of our country. That these traitors can be the final authority in the lives of more than 300 million Americans is proof that our system of government is broken!
The ability of special interest groups to own and control the American Government has never been more evident! The strength of a free and open internet will be more important now more than ever!
Although I see our country trying to become a third rate socialist styled country for the next two years I look forward to the 2010 elections. In a very short amount of time the "hope", "change" bullshit bubble has burst smack dab in the face of the trolls! American's, you know those "bitter, clingy", "typical white people" are being shocked back to reality with the troll actions over the past month.
I promise you all that this country will NEVER turn to the "dark side" of socialism without a fight.
This major shift of power engineered by special interests and implemented by 300 enpowered politicians will be met with resistance. It may take a little while longer but when the shit hits the fan it will have come straight from the liberals and their minions in the government and the press.
Real American's will step-up and do the same as we did in 1994 when we cleaned up the house!

The only encouraging thing is that moonbats are just too stupid to to stay in power.
"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
Trolls!!!!

Mark,

Pretty simple really. It allows the congress to haul anyone in, anytime they want for their little show-trials. I expect at least one a week for the next two years. Don't tow the party line, prepare for subpoenas. It's the perfect diversion from their own criminality. They're already over reaching though. Much damage can (has) and will be done before people wise up.

Political Battle Brews Over 2010 Census
President Obama's decision to share oversight of next year's Census has sparked protest from GOP lawmakers.
This is very scary! Obama and Emmanuel will have access to census data - It's the data that they will use to manipulate this country. And, the data that can be used against us if we are not "thinking like them". Sounds alot like how Stalin's Pograms got started. I suspect if the election were to be held today after we have all watched him in action - Mr. Obama would not be so smug. I see his approval rating is going down.
No stone will be left unturned, no area of power not grabbed by the freak and his henchmen and henchwomen, abetted by the liberal press who reports none of this. Next will be the Airways, and after that, the Internet, in very short order. Just like in China. Listen to His Vileness, talking to Republican Senators, making fun of them, lording his new power over them, like the low life joke that he is. And the groupies laughing canned laughter for their idol. America's tears are falling. Where are the Patriots who will defend her?
What a narcissistic control freak.
The country wanted B O and they got it. Why are they so surprised it STINKS??? Wake up folks!
A political battle has erupted over next year's census with Republican lawmakers protesting President Obama's decision to take a bigger role in supervising the process.
The Census Bureau director, who reports to the commerce secretary, now also will keep the White House directly in the loop.
The White House says it is following a historical precedent and that this simply shows that the census is a priority for the president. But Republicans say it looks like a political power grab.
"The United States census should remain independent of politics," House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, said. "It should not be directed by political operatives working out of the White House."
"I'm very concerned," Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., told FOX News. "The Census Bureau has worked for decades to get rid of the cronyism and the partisan politics that had permeated that agency.
"And they have done it by bringing professionalism to the agency and making certain that individuals that came there went through a very thorough process. Anytime there is an administration that will tamper with that, this is a concern to anyone."
Blackburn, a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, says the committee will hold hearings to investigate the change.
The census count is supposed to be a non-partisan process. But it also helps to determine how congressional lines are drawn. And it shows the demographic changes of the nation of the past 10 years, which could shift billions of dollars in federal funding for things like schools and roads and job training.
Some Republicans suspect this could be a move by the White House to gerrymander those political boundaries so they benefit Democratic candidates.
The move comes after some advocates worried that Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., Obama's nominee for commerce secretary, wouldn't push hard for a count of Hispanics and other minorities in the census.
Boehner said the White House oversight "appears to be motivated by politics" because Gregg has been picked by Obama to take over the Commerce Department.
But Obama officials insist they're simply returning to the model used under President Clinton.
