It seems some on the Left are less than thrilled with their early impressions of the new chosen one. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!
Thea Lee, policy director of the AFL-CIO, said, "We would like to have him stand more forthrightly behind the positions that he took during the campaign."
"He made very clear promises, and he should live up to them," said Arthur Stamoulis, director of the Oregon Fair Trade Campaign, which received an unqualified "yes" from Obama on a campaign questionnaire last year when the group asked if he would support "Buy American" requirements. "The fact that he's hedging on this is not promising. He's catering much too much to the desires of Republicans who are not going to support the change that voters wanted."
He isn't cratering to "the Republicans." He's cratering to common sense after fooling the starstruck idiots into thinking he would actually deliver exactly as promised. Maybe if the Left had taken time to actually get to know the guy instead of hopping into bed with him over that thrill running up their leg, they'd know they were electing a typical politican with his own agenda. Ya think?
And they'll never know or be sure of his real agenda because he doesn't say and doesn't appear to know it himself much of the time.

On Buy American he isn't cratering to the Republicans, he's cratering to other countries who reminded Obama that "Buy American" in the USA means "Don't Buy American" in their language. But I do think these groups that supported Obama have the right to be angry that he's not honoring his promises. We can ridicule them for being naive and foolish but he did run as something new and different. And many people clearly believed him. It has to hurt, his easy betrayal.

I don't think the voters that voted for him cared ! Many of the voters that went to the polls and voted for him had no clue what he stood for in reality, did not care about his associations, did not care about REV. WRIGHT and that he was from the Chicago way of doing things. The DAMN KOOL AIDE was extra strength and they are still drinking.
Yes, he is a smooth talker and had a way of convincing people of all these things he was going to do to help them. His style was amazing to people. They bought it. Now they will pay along with the rest of US.
I can only just pray that people will come to their senses between now and the next elections in 2010 and 2012.
WHAT CAN YOU DO? Sit back and cry I guess..AND SAY DAMN ALOT.
