Ultimately Obama may breed a new generation of political cynics, as opposed to one of true believers in any cause. Unfortunately the consequences of that could be just as bad for America. I think Obama might actually prefer a population not overly engaged in politics.
The real twist to Obama's administration early on has been how swiftly he acts on things he mostly avoided discussing during the campaign. Yet, many of the best promises he made repeatedly to win election have not been acted upon at all.
