There are enough disturbing quotes to be found between RBO and The Daily Beast to make this worth pointing out. I'm less confident about condemning the business links to the bin Laden family as it's a murky subject and I'm not sure who knows the correct story.

I distinctly remember the Oslo Accords making some headway in trying to find an equitable solution to the Israel-Palestinian issue, however they seem to have fallen by the wayside. What I see happening now is a war of attrition, with each side seemingly underestimating how much pain and suffering the other can take, interrupted periodically by shaking truces and "peace" negotiations; there also appears to be a culture that compromise is weakness. Based on Obama's political propensities and his choices for advisors, I doubt his administration will make any more significant progress toward a resolution than his predecessors did.

I think there are a lot of nations and people who could lay claims to different lands they held thousands of years ago. It's good you point out part of the history of the land, but over thousands of years of different rulers (The Ottomans controlled and settled it as well) a people basically lose claim to the land they once held some hundreds or thousands of years before. For professor and anyone else that likes to go back in history to bolster the arguement: At what point in time do you put the brakes on and decide what is right? What are you willing to do in support of your point?

I'll admit that I don't know the full history of the area, so I'll work with what 'professor' stated, that Israel history goes back farther than the Muslim history. That the presence (3500-4000 yrs) should take precedent.

That is a line of garbage. First, it does not work that way. If that were the case, what we call 'Americans' would have nothing in the US today. It would all belong to somebody else (Indians?) and our mutt behinds could only claim other parts.

Then we have the Almighty factor. Who are you, anyone really, to appoint yourself as the person to decide when to stop the time machine and say where the baseline is at? Where should that baseline be set? What about other countries? What should be the baseline requirements? A king? A population within a radius? A population within the border? Does that mean the US should revert also?

These questions never get answered by the same people who push for this.

So what, if jews settled in israel 3500-4000years back in palestine. it doesnt give them the right to come after ~3500years again and claim the land from the later residents. What if I say that my forefathers settled in america but later than a storm came and most of them were wiped out but now i am their descendant and i want to occupy america again whether I kill them or enclose all of them in a barred fence (like currently in palestine/gaza).

I think we should all be tolerant and watch what we say or write. Insulting Muslims and making derogatory remarks on Prophet Mohammed is unfortunate. We should learn to address issues maturely and aeek solutions instead of aggravating the problem through unguarded statements.
The issue of Isreal and Palestine needs to be handled fairly. We ought to look for ways to ensure both exist side by side peacefully. The Isrealis have a right to live peacefully without the fear of attack by a suicide bomber or rockets being thrown into their homes. The Palestinians have a right to live and enjoy all amminities being enjoyed by other parts of the World. Their children have the right to have sound education, food supply, water, electricity etc.
Have you ever taught of what could make a right thinking person want to commit suicide? I think and feel it is abnormal and might be a mental disorder caused by frustration and hopelessness. Let us find the cause of this problem and address the issue without bias.
I am fed up with both sides. Cant they please be matured and solved this issue without bloodsheld. Cant we have peace in the world. I am a Muslim and my religion teaches me Peace, Tolerance, Perseverance and love for my Neighbours and I am convinced Christianity teaches same and the Jews beleive in same too. why dont we all come togheter and resolve this issue amicably.
