I'll put my "if I were a criminal" hat on. I would wait and see what the vetting people found out about me. Good, they only found out about the taxes I forgot to pay. They didn't find the other stuff, so I'm safe. Now I'll confess to the tax mistake and say I'm sorry and take full responsibility for my actions. That'll do it.

IIRC, it didn't open that door in the Geithner hearings!

Gosh, I'm sure glad our ever-vigilant media are asking these same questions! ... Right?

It took him a month because he had cheated on so many of his past tax returns that he had to see which ones he REALLY needed to focus on first.
I am sure there were a lot more lies on a lot more of his returns but the items of interest he brought to the forefront were the most serious.
He is a crook just like most all of our congressional leaders are.

The public should demand to go over all of congress's tax returns with a fine tooth comb. A lot of money coudl be collected that is owed by them I am sure of this.

Scumbag cheats, liars and crooks...all of them.

Obama Plan Has Already Boosted IRS Tax Collections
by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace ·
(2009-01-31) — In office less than two weeks, President Barack Obama has already increased tax receipts at the U.S. Treasury with an innovative plan to get tax-dodgers to pay up, in full, immediately.

“The president’s plan is simple but ingenious,” said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, “He targets wealthy individuals who filed inaccurate tax forms, cheating the government out of tens of thousands of dollars. Then he just nominates them for cabinet positions.

:-)

"what else he may be hiding."

You're saying he owns a gun that isn't registered in Illinois?

Yeah, that Daschle guy is a real creep. But *my* Senators and Congressmen are wonderful. They are really trying to help us little people with all of our problems. Why just last year, my Congressman got us $150,000 so that we could renovate the old train depot into a wonderful city history museum and gift shop. And if we don't get that stimulus package passed soon, we may have to close it and lay off those four single mothers who work there.

Always did think Daschle was a weasel.........this is not surprising
