Megyn Kelly just wiped the floor with Bill Press on Fox and few minutes ago.

I love this line from Red State's article - will we be forced to watch? Will we have two-way TVs so they can check to make sure?

"We want to get alternative views on radio and TV, but we also want to makes sure those alternative views are read, heard and seen online, which is becoming increasingly video and audio driven."

Oh she did really "clean his clock" with nothing but facts. What do these people have against a free market?

Sick of looking at Obama pictures everywhere?

Camille Paglia on the Fairness? Doctrine -

"If there’s anything that demonstrates the straying of the Democratic Party leadership from basic liberal principles, it’s this blasted Fairness Doctrine—which should be fiercely opposed by all defenders of free speech. Except when national security is at risk, government should never be involved in the surveillance of speech or in measuring the ideological content of books, movies or radio and TV programs."

About the teleprompter:

If you were on TV talking about war and peace, and trillions of dollars, you'd want to get stuff right. One wrong word and people could die.

Neither Washington nor Lincoln could have ad-libbed correct sound bites on major policy, even less so in the glare of a hundred million TV viewers. Presidents are supposed to reflect and analyze and decide; Not perform like circus elephants. Any on-stage assistance they want is fine.

I can't stand Obama the idea. The guy isn't that great either, but the idea of who he is is sickening.

In 5 years, were going to be thinking about W 2 terms as the good ole days, when we had a president that you could believe in.

With each passing day there seems to be more chaos. It was bad 5 months ago, but lately...

Why does he need to take over the census? How is he allowed to do that?

The funny thing about the democrats, the liberals et al is that I can't even tell you how many times I've watched PBS and have heard them crying on some level or another about the Hollywood black list, and what was it? 13 people or something? This when the USSR who had slaughtered millions of people was expanding into Eastern Europe, so yeah there was paranoia, and the black listing wasn't cool, but let it die already.

But, talk about the fairness doctrine and it's all go for these folks. They could care less about free speech unless they're defending a pornographer. They only care about the free exchange of ideas when everyone agrees with the liberal dogma.

Unless WE THE PEOPLE express ourselfs about all this BS going on it will only get worse. Never shut up, never be afraid to speak you mind.

And speaking of President George W. Bush. I have never heard anyone say exactly what it was that he did that was "so wrong."

He is a kind and loving and gentle, caring man, that loves his country. He kept America SAFE and that in itself is enough for me.
He was not perfect as NO ONE is. But he sure as hell did not do or even attempt to do what THAT ONE is doing now and plans to do in the future.

I'm not really worried about the Fairness Doctrine - it will be a field day for lawyers (what isn't?), which means that any concrete action will take eons to get done. Liberal lawyers will get all knotted up in the personalities, and forget that it's *speech* that is being regulated, not the speaker. Lawyers for right-leaning radio stations should, and will, demand exacting definitions of what constitutes speech of either flavor. "How can I program liberal talk if you won't tell me what is conservative talk?" Should be good for some laughs.

But Barry is the smartiest man ever. He knows everything, just ask him.

The fact is that Obama's "brilliance" is another of the fables created for this boob. Obama is not particular bright nor well education, hence the refusal by Obama and his campaign to allow the release of his college transcripts. How sad is it that this 45 year old man had to rely on the prestige of the colleges he attended as testaments to his high "intellect" and then he refused access to his grades. Why? Because I guarantee you that his grades were much worse than George W. Bush's grades. And how can the "messiah" proclaim his superiority if he is below a man who Obama's biggest supporters have lambasted as a doofus for 8 years.

If George Bush had to have a teleprompter to get thru the lovefest of press conferences that Obama holds, he would have been ridiculed on every news show on TV.

Obama is an idiot.

Fred,

There's one thing wrong with your "analysis"

Given that there were only candles and muskets back then, I'm gonna guess that Washington and Lincoln DID ad lib major policies, if faced with public questions.

If he needs a teleprompter, in addition to the already pre-picked reporters, to answer a dang question... that is just sad.

I repeat, he ALREADY has pre-picked reporters, and he needs notes to answer the question from pre-picked reporters!!! That's like bringing flashcards to an open book test. It's open book AND if you actually knew what you were doing, you wouldn't even need the book.

I like guys like Fred, they make excuses for the inexcusable, but I'm willing to bet those excuses only apply to the people he votes for. Would he extend the same BS logic and courtesy to the opposition? NOPE!
