I agree with him about the probability of success had he had a "level playing field".
I disagree with his as to what would make it "a level playing field".
Get CBS, NBC, ABC, and CNN to fire the far left staffs, and report from the middle, and there would have been a sellable market for far left broadcast media.
With the prevalence of liberal print media and Hollywood, it wouldn't be as large as the current demand for honest and balanced media reporting plus right wing personalities like Savage.
With CBS, NBC, ABC, and CNN filling any possible demand for far left advocacy, there wasn't any room for Air America. All that audience was sated.

Here in NY Mario Cuomo had a radio show - bleh, Lynn Samuels - bleh. I don't remember any others as I only listen to the radio in my car.

Bill Press used to be one of the TV shows, was it Capital Gang? He was angry and mean IMO. Wasn't he a Jesuit at one time?

Speaking of fairness. Here is unfairness. Nancy Pelosi's government-paid propaganda organ presents a chart that doesn't consider total population in comparing job losses over time. This is like comparing the cost of Time magazine in 1963, when it was $0.25 to its cost now without considering inflation. What BS!

Fear mongering, anyone?

Concerning the above, I also missed where the "peak month" was identified.

Consider this. The "fairness doctrine" is a door that swings both ways. So Rush gives some genius like Rosie O'Donnell 15 minutes to shriek about crap she has no idea of......say how "steel doesn't burn"........Conversely, Say Rosie has her own airheads in amerika radio show and shrieks about steel and fire..........Now, big mouth has give thousands of engineers, scientists, fire chiefs, construction wokers equal time to tell her audience what a total dumbass she and her theories are.......With a small bit of honesty people might actually begin to listen to liberal talk shows...

Level playing field???????? Man what could be more level thanb stealing money from charities to stay on the air?

It is interesting but quite scary too. The new meme of the Dems is: "wasting money" is, for lack of a better word, good.

"When DEMOCRAT David Obey, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, says "So what?" when it comes to waste in the stimulus bill, it's very, very telling. That sums up the Dems' attitude about ..."

I wrote about this station and "Obama1260" some weeks ago. It turns out, that the genome and loans that station also owns WTNT on 570. can at station until recently was labeled "McCain 570" I think you'll find if you look, that the monikers were pulled off of both stations simultaneously.

What's happening here, is Liberal talk doesn't sell. No wonder, then, liberals tend not to trust the free market.

Arrgh. Darned dictation program.
Correction:

It turns out, that the get that owns that station also owns WTNT on 570.

I think network news anchors should be limited to a salary of $500,000

"I think network news anchors should be limited to a salary of $500,000."

For reading someone elses work?????? Maybe you added an extra 0 and meant 50k.......

how are they going to write a fairness doctrine that excludes global warming?

I imagine nbc being forced to run a counterpoint of equal length to any of their propoganda.

The playing field is level...it's called a channel selector.
