Good Lord. Congress is preparing to spend almost a trillion dollars and what is that great conservative mind of Sullivan's on about? His latest misguided attack on Sarah Palin, which he promptly has to retract - and then try to qualify. She was a jock, you moron. She most likely knew of ESPN even before it was officially launched, as did many from advanced PR.
A mind is a terrible thing to see wasted.
[Correction: I should have read the full Esquire excerpt rather than the Courant summary of it. In the actual interview, she gives all three reasons for Bristol's name. So no contradiction. My bad.]
[Update: on the other hand, many readers have written to say that Palin was highly unlikely to have known of ESPN in high school. It was only founded in 1979 and became widely known only in 1982.]

the dems just came out with a new bill and they want to vote on it immediately...
I wonder if for kicks, someone put the 'communist manifesto' in there, using fine print.
needs a weekend, minimum to be reviewed. The haste is ridiculously suspicious.
Why not wait a week? unless you need it done for obama for his monday nite pep rally.

The trillion pound elephant sitting smack dab in the middle of Andy's living room that folks avoid talking about is called "AIDS dementia".

So, if Governor Palin was born in February of '64 she should have graduated 18 years later, in '82 or '83, depending on how her area split up the year for starting school. Seems that Excitable Andy says that Sarah wouldn't have known about ESPN until '82. Why? A girl jock would have known there wasn't much besides sports journalism for her back then so she probably paid attention to such things.
How does this guy get away with telling everyone how smart he is? You have to spot him fifty IQ points to raise him to the level of a bag of hammers.

this makes Andrew and his readers look even stupider than they already do:
Palin attended Wasilla High School in Wasilla, located 44 miles (71 km) north of Anchorage.[9] She was the head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at the school, a member of the girls' cross country team, and the captain and point guard of the school's girls' basketball team that won the Alaska state championship in 1982.[8][10]
After graduating from high school in 1982, she enrolled at Hawaii Pacific College in Honolulu. She left after one semester and transferred to North Idaho College, a community college in Coeur d'Alene, where she spent two semesters as a general studies major in 1983. In 1984, Palin won the Miss Wasilla Pageant,[11][12] then finished third in the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant,[13][14] at which she won a college scholarship and the "Miss Congeniality" award.[8]

I think his beagle is writing those columns these days. No way anybody is that dumb. Actually, I don't think a beagle could be that dumb.

this obsession with Palin...
if he were gay, one would think it comes down to a matter of jealousy.
