I didn't realize I was reading Orwell as a kid in preparation for living it later on. To read this leaves you wondering if you should laugh, scream, or ... okay, crying isn't an option - unless you're rehearsing for an Obama town hall, of course.
We're broke. Several cesspools otherwise known as Blue States will consume everything from his stimulus and it won't be enough to prop them up. Detroit is already warming the engines for another DC-green pitstop. There's a mortage bailout, TARP 2 and already no end to the existing line for the Washington trough - and Obama is going to ambitiously remake America now? And this?
The following week, the president will host what the White House is billing as a "fiscal responsibility" summit on February 23. The goal of the summit is to begin weighing the impact of massive federal programs like Social Security and Medicare just days before the president plans to unveil his first annual budget to Congressional leaders.
If Obama believes he is actually going to move forward at an increasingly hurried pace in ripping up such significant systems as health care, Medicare, Social Security and whatever else, at a time when America is truly broke and the economy is in the tank, then he has no idea what havoc he is about to unleash in this country.
And if his only vaguely coherent thought as to what justifies doing so now, is, Yes We Can! He and the Democrats are about to hear from the large number of people who didn't vote for him and many who did. And they will say, No, you idiots. You cannot. And we dare you to try!
Several White House aides noted that in addition to the stimulus win, the president has signed into law an equal pay act and legislation expanding a children's' health insurance program for an extra 4 million kids.
"There's an enormity to what's happened so far," said one of the White House aides. "It's hard work, but it's worth it. We're sprinting."
Aides say they plan to pick up the pace next week with a stimulus signing ceremony as early as Monday, though it could slide to Tuesday morning depending on how quickly congressional leaders wrap up the legislative details.

"Aides say they plan to pick up the pace next week with a stimulus signing ceremony as early as Monday..."
"Pick up the pace?" Yeah, that's what lemmings also do as they head toward the cliff overlooking the ocean.
"We're marching to a faster pace,
Look out, here comes the MASTER RACE!"

The Democratic party, its sympathetic media, and Obama himself are so desparate for his presidency to be "historic" that they are embarking upon grandiose reforms without thinking through the consequences with any appreciable degree of rationality. If this trend continues, Obama's presidency will indeed be "historic" -- for all the wrong reasons.

Well, from reading all this BS looks like this is the road OBAMA has chosen.
Sounds like everything he is doing. He even mentioned someone named Frank in his book who was a member on the communist party. READ ON BELOW.
US communists, ever hopeful, say they're coming back
Written by Matt Kennard
After years in the wilderness, the Communist Party USA is giving itself a public relations and ideological makeover, and, with its new $1 million office, hopes to be running the US within 50 years.
To its own surprise, the party has even found a connection to Democratic golden boy and presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama.
In his autobiography, “Dreams of My Father,” Obama refers to a mentor named Frank, who was recently revealed to be Frank Marshall David, a poet and a CPUSA member.
We Communists believe that socialism is the very best replacement for a capitalist system that has served its purpose, but no longer meets the needs and requirements of the great majority of our people.
We believe that socialism USA will be built according to the traditions, history, culture and conditions of the United States. Thus, it will be different from any other socialist society in the world. It will be uniquely American.

I once read a long time ago that only anti-Nazi movies would be made, never anti-Communist. There has only been one real anti-commie movie and it was made in the 40s. Any others have been fluff.
The bad guys are always Nazis and these days they are portrayed as right-wing which is truly laughable.
Communism is always shown as benign, a little joke, if only things had gone right it would have been glorious. Che is a hero, handsome, dashing, lover of freedom. (I am so happy the movie bombed.)
