So I'm giving this issue more thought and I'm thinking, wait a minute - he breaks a record for fund raising after breaking a pledge to take public financing. They spend, what? $150 million on an innauguration and tonight he's dining on $100 steaks right after spending a trillion or so of our tax dollars. Also, you apparently can raise orchids in his office after he lectured people on thermostat settings?
And Wall Street is our only problem when it comes to excess?
I'm not buying it. I only wish more Americans would take the time to think about how too many of our politicans live like kings while slamming the convenient target of the day for salaries or bonuses and whatever else. There is something seriously wrong with Washington. And my sense is, Obama is not going to be the guy to fix it. He'd have to keep his hand out of the cookie jar if he was going to do that. And so far he hasn't come close.
Mr. Obama blasted earlier news that Wall Street had paid out $18.4 billion in bonuses, calling it "the height of irresponsibility" and "shameful."

"They spend, what? $150 million on an innauguration"
A blatant lie and you know it.

He has no SHAME. He will be saying "I AM NOT A CROOK" before the end of his administation.
Inflate your tires, turn down your heat, eat beans and rice, ride a bike to work,
I WON I WON, SCREW YOU ALL.
"Do as I say" or freeze to death when you can't pay your heating bill, or if the going gets too bad, just shoot your family and then yourself.
This man is pathetic ! Double standards, stimulus package is paying for all his contributors causes.
Does he think everyone is stupid ?
Sit back, have fun and watch as this is going to be fun.
There will be so much corruption this time around that it will become almost unbelieveable. But believe it. After all this is "CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN" , RIGHT ?
LMAO
Did you hear about some of the other pork in the stimulus bill?
We are talking spare ribs, pig ears, pork roast, pig feet, pork rinds and it goes on an on.
How bought a clubhouse for a golf course, a snow making machine, a skateboard park, funds for the arts, there is just too much to mention here.
STIMULUS BILL ??? Yeah right.
We are doomed.

I hardly think that Spending stimulus money on duck ponds, ice rinks, ski hills and dog parks is helping the economy. Sounds like Bacon to me.
So the question remains: Is there pork in this bill?
"Pork is a very subjective definition," says Robert Bixby of the nonpartisan budget watchdog The Concord Coalition. "One man's idea of pork is another man's vital federal program."
And that's the rub. When you have two parties with strong ideological differences — especially when it comes to spending taxpayer money — a big ham on the dining room table can look like two different things. To some, it's pork. To others, it's a nourishing meal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is just a way of shifting the attention away from the super HAM BILL.
NANCY PUKEFACE told Obama to send her the list of people whom he wanted to get stimulus money (his big political donors, Unions and such)and she would see to it that it was in the bill if in return she and her cohorts in crime could put all their pork in the bill. So wala the bill come to life.
You can fool most of the people most of the time (THE KOOL AID DRINKERS), but you can't fool all of the people all of time. We got your number Obama mama. We got your number.
OK now that we know Obie has a big propensity for PORK...can we put away any rumors that he's a closet muslim?
As long as he doesn't send money to SAG, I guess ACORN to unions is ok, after all this is what the peeples wanted......any money for old folks who are freezing to death because they can't pay for heating fuel????
Ol' Big Ears is a naive waif, trying to "look cool" with the help of his PR Dept - aka, the MSM.
Guess thats what happens when enough fools elect a left-wing lawyer with virtually no experience, who most definately "pal'd around with terrorists" as well as radical moooslims, racist preachers, Chicago machine corruptocrats and various anarchists, in his "academic, intellecutal" circle of friends.
God help us....hopefully, Barry Soetoro will be chased out of office before long.
More Tax cuts, please! The ones we had the last eight years have just now started to work, haven't they? I mean we are going to see all those big corporations hiring more and more people any minute now aren't we? As for stimulus money to revitalize the National Mall and other things like that we all know that the money will only go to pay illegals since real Americans don't do jobs like that....We just need to do what Bush told us to do after 9-11 and keep shopping and everything will be O.K.
Posted by: Cassie | Friday, January 30, 2009 at 08:02 AM
Some interesting calculations from Ben Stein, American Spectator blog:
"For the amount spent[to be spent on the so-called stimulus bill] we could have given every unemployed person in the United States roughly $75,000.
We could give every person who had lost a job and is now passing through long-term unemployment of six months or longer roughly $300,000.
There has been pork barrel politics since there has been politics. The scale of this pork is beyond what had ever been imagined before -- and no one can be sure it will actually do much stimulation."
"Go read the link you moron.
"Forty-two percent (42%) of the nation’s likely voters now support the president’s plan, roughly one-third of which is tax cuts with the rest new government spending. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 39% are opposed to it and 19% are undecided."
Posted by: jharp | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 07:12 PM"
Insanity has recently been described as doing something over and over and expecting a different result.
100% - 42% (who support the bill) = 58% who don't (39% oppose + 19% don't know/don't care. Do any or all of these support the bill? No. 58% do not support the bill. I am in that %, that 58%. Then there are the 42%ers, the minority who support the porkorama from Obama.
Yes...the actual amount, by the accounts I've read, is closer to $170 million. Oh wait, that means Dan's statement isn't a lie...it's more like an understatement.
Crawl back under your bridge, troll.
Columbia Journalism Review critizes White House Press Corps - bunch of rookies who don't know what they're doing - Catch 22 mentioned -
excerpt
"Questions about whether Shapiro knows the difference between off-the-record, background, deep background, and on-the-record did not get asked, because Shapiro made it clear he had no interest in answering anything about how the Obama press secretary’s office is operating and what its tone will be. He said questions should be submitted in writing by e-mail to nshapiro@who.eop.gov. I sent Shapiro an e-mail outlining the contours of what would be covered in an interview, but have not received a response as of this writing, the following day.
Shapiro did say that there are press office numbers to call beside 202-456-2580, which has been the main White House press office number for decades. “You should have used one of them,” he said.
And those numbers are? Shapiro said these numbers would be made public soon. (Thoughts of the illogic made famous by Kafka, Catch-22, and Lewis Carroll’s King of Hearts come to mind here.)
But there is more to this than just the answering, or not answering, of telephones and questions.
The previous administration sometimes edited White House briefing transcripts to polish the record. Bloggers, and some working reporters, compared the transcripts to the video and audio to prove this kind of ham-handed disrespect for empirical facts.
The Obama administration is also editing briefing transcripts. So far it posts only snippets of some White House briefings at whitehouse.gov. Shapiro promised that would be corrected soon.
Why does the NY Times lie so much?
Obama, in Shift, Says He’ll Reject Public Financing
By MICHAEL LUO and JEFF ZELENY
Published: June 20, 2008
Citing the specter of attacks from independent groups on the right, Senator Barack Obama announced Thursday that he would opt out of the public financing system for the general election.
Alex Brandon/Associated Press
Senator Barack Obama announced his decision not to accept public financing. Mr. Obama, right, in discussion on his campaign’s plane, with Reggie Love, a staff member, nearby, on Thursday.
His decision to break an earlier pledge to take public money will quite likely transform the landscape of presidential campaigns, injecting hundreds of millions of additional dollars into the race and raising doubts about the future of public financing for national races.
Why does Obama hate Europe and Asia so much. He promised he would make them like us, as they did in...oh, 1945 to 1949, 'cept USSR and a few other spoil sports. But now look:
"The prospect of a trade war between the US and Europe is looming after "Buy American" provisions were added to President Barack Obama's $820 billion (£573 billion) stimulus package.
Another reason that the Repubs and Dems who voted against the huge pork pie were right to do so:
From the New York Post:
"January 30, 2009 --
WASHINGTON - Buried deep inside the massive spending orgy that Democrats jammed through the House this week lie five words that could drastically undo two decades of welfare reforms.
The very heart of the widely applauded Welfare Reform Act of 1996 is a cap on the amount of federal cash that can be sent to states each year for welfare payments.
But, thanks to the simple phrase slipped into the legislation, the new "stimulus" bill abolishes the limits on the amount of federal money for the so-called Emergency Fund, which ships welfare cash to states.
"Out of any money in the Treasury of the United States not otherwise appropriated, there are appropriated such sums as are necessary for payment to the Emergency Fund," Democrats wrote in Section 2101 on Page 354 of the $819 billion bill. In other words, the only limit on welfare payments would be the Treasury itself.
'"This re-establishes the welfare state and creates dependency all over the place,' said one startled budget analyst after reading the line."
Lets see, We should keep giving tax breaks to the rich, who'll then stick the money in stocks or a off shore bank. How does that provide jobs for anyone other than wall street ? Aren't they the butt-wipes that got use in this mess and gave themselves MEGA-bonuses for doing so and ARE STILL DOING SO ??
As for Obie's $100 steak dinners - wall street is buying $100,000,000 dollar airplanes with tax payer money and lets not forget the bonus for getting such a good deal now !
Also don't forget the guy that said "I'm not a crook" was a REPUBLICAN that should have gone to prison for years and years but was let off the hook by another republican! And there are plenty of others over the years that should have been cell mates that the repuks let off as well!
But if we spend it on PORK like parks and roads and what the hell ever else that actually puts the working class back to work - well that's all bad right? Let's just forget about the multiplying affect that spending money locally has and just give it to the guys that know how to cheat us out of it anyway - right?
So I guess that a democrat spending it on things like roads, bridges and sewers, water treatment, parks and other silly things is a waste of money - unlike when Roosevelt(he was a republican)did it the last time we found ourselves in this same kind of mess made buy the same kind of good Ol' boys on wall street? Nothing good came of that - Right? Just most of what we now enjoy at many of our national parks - the trails and historic buildings and many of the roads and bridges we drive on to get to them and power lines that allow us to live the way we do. NONE of that is worth mentioning - Right ?
Funny how some keep forgetting how wall street keeps cheating people out of their money and drives down the economy every couple of years, yet we're ALL are suppose to ignore that fact and give them MORE MONEY to waste as they see fit ?????????????
WHAT KIND OF MORON WOULD DO THAT - A REPUBLICAN and every politician !!!!!
Tax cuts combined with a reduction in govt. spending / reduction in the size of govt. is the only way out of an economic downturn.
But limp-wristed libs want their nanny state to "feel good" about "caring" for others and so govt. keeps growing and growing.
We must make our country more hospitable to doing business. Right now we have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world.
But our moron-in-chief, the "former mooslim" Barry, believes govt. is the solution and he also wants to redistribute wealth to his favorite Democrat (limp-wrists) constituencies.
Recessions occur every 10-15 years in a free market economy. That's simple reality. It's not the fault of any president or party.
What Osama/Obama favors though is a top-heavy, command and control, statist economy because it's helps his "little people", i.e. the poor, the lazy, the losers in life, for they are the rock solid Democratic voters. That's why B. Hussein wants to legalize illegal aliens and even increase legal immigration because Barry-boy knows that most "immigrants" are poor and and 3 out of 4 vote democrat if and when they become citizens (even without becoming citizens, some non-citizens have been voting). Of course it is also DNC strategy to weaken citizenship and voting requirements, thus assuring any idiot who can't speak English can vote more Democrats into office!
What a scam!
Boo-hoo, the economy is in recession. What's the solution the liberal media is offering? MORE GOVERNMENT!! MORE, MORE, MORE!!
The only solution to recession is.........recession. Just have to wait it out until the business cycle recycles and things begin again to move upward.
Less than 5% of Obambi's Porkulus Bill is devoted to infrastructure building and repair. Less than 5% and those projects takes 1-3 years TO EVEN BEGIN.
And Oprah assured his idiot voters that he's so smart! Ha, ha, ha....Like they say, "there's a sucker born every minute". They put a US-hating, former muslim lawyer in the White House along with his America-hating witch of a wife.
His first acts were making Mohammedan jihadis more "comfortable". Ha, ha, ha......
