You wouldn't throw your vote away on a marginal third party candidate, but you're already throwing it away on the MSM's two-party candidates.

I'm an old guy who hasn't read a newspaper in ten years. Ms Malkin is first view for my news. Note how she lists other blogs WITH HEADLINES in right hand column. Gets me to other blogs but rarely gets me to comment. Also note how DRUDGE lists in a similar fashion and gets millions of hits per day. See a trend no one has factored into a biz plan? Rick Moran has great list of blogs but I would suggest adding headlines to prompt more traffic to other blogs but locked into his site to return. As to getting paid for ads on your respective blogs...GOOGLE does it by selling number of clicks. Billboards do it by number of cars driving by. Seems there are a lot of dumb advertising people out there buying that kind of logic! How about adding an email address aimed at your advertisers where readers could thank them for sponsoring your blog? Lots of ways to make blogging a business...MSM is losing journalists (300 @ LA Times just today) and circulation is dropping. Betcha Ms Malkin's numbers are growing! Bloggers need a conference to develop a biz plan that will benefit all.Let me know when and where and I'll help.

If you're thinking about the "capital L" Libertarians, remember to consider all their positively nutty positions. They have traditionally been against ANY overseas military bases, against any federal regulation of child pornography, against any regulation of drugs including prescription drugs, for the gold standard, and for open borders (at least through the first 30 years or so of the LP's existence this was a non-negotiable plank of their platform - I don't know if Ron Paul repudiated it or just obscured it).

In terms of basic beliefs, the LP does NOT support the Constitution of the United States as currently written and enforced. While they don't specifically say so, what they really support is essentially a return to the Articles of Confederation (and don't we remember how that turned out the first time?).

LP candidates for President have won 1% of the vote exactly ONE time (1980) in nearly 40 years of trying. They've never managed as much as 0.5% in any other national election. Nevertheless, the LP is always claiming to be a "party on the move" and proudly lists all their elected officials - from constables in New Hampshire to sewer commissioners in small California municipalities to the occasional mayor or councilman in some town you never heard of.

Sorry, but if you can never even beat the margin of error in 40 years, your group is on the outer fringe. Joining the LP would have about as much effect on the American polity as wearing a propeller beanie to work. All either accomplishes is pointing out the nuts among us.
