Peace, love and understanding. Yes, what is it Iran really means when it threatens to wipe Israel off the map? Hmm? The only thing I can think of that we have dictated to them is that some factions must renounce violence. How mean of us!
The first video segment below seemed to loop about 4 minutes in. When it does, fast forward to 7 minutes in and it picks up, again. Apparently Obama still plans to deliver an address from a Muslim capitol within his first 100 days.
Obama: And so what I told him (Mitchell) is start by listening, because all too often the United States starts by dictating -- in the past on some of these issues -- and we don't always know all the factors that are involved. So let's listen. He's going to be speaking to all the major parties involved. And he will then report back to me. From there we will formulate a specific response.
The questioner basically suggests that Iraq alienated the Muslim world from America post 9/11 in the exchange below and Obama bites. What about the USS Cole, our embassies, the first attack on the Trade Center? Suddenly they don't exist because of Iraq?
Obama thinks al Qaeda's "nervous" because The One is on the scene. Good grief.
AL ARABIYA: Absolutely. Let me take a broader look at the whole region. You are planning to address the Muslim world in your first 100 days from a Muslim capital. And everybody is speculating about the capital. (Laughter.) If you have anything further, that would be great.
How concerned are you – because, let me tell you, honestly, when I see certain things about America – in some parts, I don't want to exaggerate – there is a demonization of America.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Absolutely.
AL ARABIYA: It's become like a new religion, and like a new religion it has new converts -- like a new religion has its own high priests.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Right.
AL ARABIYA:It's only a religious text.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Right.
AL ARABIYA: And in the last – since 9/11 and because of Iraq, that alienation is wider between the Americans and -- and in generations past, the United States was held high. It was the only Western power with no colonial legacy.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Right.
AL ARABIYA: How concerned are you and – because people sense that you have a different political discourse. And I think, judging by (inaudible) and Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden and all these, you know – a chorus.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Yes, I noticed this. They seem nervous.
Obama believes he will defeat al Qaeda with a better education and health care plan to hear him tell it. Substantively, there is nothing new here. Bush went out of his way to not demonize the entire Muslim world. To listen to Obama, you would think he did. Time will tell how President Hopey McChange sells in the Middle-east. Based on the same rhetoric we heard from Bill Clinton and even softer, I wouldn't look for anything positive anytime soon.
I find it rather sad, especially considering this was his first interview since taking office. I am starting to develop some serious concerns about the next four years.
Part 2:

Ah...the one trick pony farts another post. It must suck to have such a limited world, you're pathetic.

Dear Jeebus,
And how exactly does your post refute what has been asserted? Ad hominem attacks strung together with chewing gum and chicken wire do not a reasoned counter-argument make. Capisce, paisan?

“Obama: And so what I told him (Mitchell) is start by listening, because all too often the United States starts by dictating”
Starts by dictating?!
This is, of course, not what our diplomats do. I sincerely hope Obama does not believe what he said and supposedly told Mitchell. Mitchell knows better, I presume.

President Obama say: Our State Department used to begin negotiations by dictating to other negotiators. Is that true? Is that in the State manual? "Rule 1. Always begin negotiating with dictatorial statements."
Now Hillary heads State, and repeats her Senate candidacy promise/tactic of going around the fly-over parts of New York state and "listening". As they say in show business concerning remakes, "They liked it once. They'll love it twice."

Change we can believe in!!!
George Mitchell, President Barack Obama’s special Middle East troubleshooter, was chairman of a law firm that was paid about $8 million representing Dubai’s ruler in connection with a child-trafficking lawsuit.
The DLA Piper law firm did legal and lobbying work on the case, which alleged that Dubai’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al- Maktoum and another official used children kidnapped from other countries to ride as jockeys in camel races. The firm lobbied federal agencies, members of the U.S. House and about two dozen Senate offices, including those of Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2006 and 2007, according to Justice Department foreign-agent disclosures.

God help this country!
I don't know about a one trick pony, but this guy seems to believe his handlers, who seem hell bent on destroying us.

Oh come on...let us listen to what they have to say as long as we don't have to send them money. Then tell them "we don't care how many of your own you kill. Just stay in your sandbox and keep the oil flowing......."

"Bush went out of his way to not demonize the entire Muslim world."
ROTFLMAO x1,000,000! Is this comedy? Are you really this clueless? How do you think Bush won in 2004, moron? Just as I think you wingnuts might have learned a little bit of the art of self-examination over the past few years, given how horribly you keep getting spanked, you prove me wrong. You'd think having your a$$es handed to you by an increasing number of American voters over the last two elections would prompt some of you to do a little soul-searching. Nope! Exxxxcellent.
And this little gem of disengenuousness is just the icing on the cake!
"I am starting to develop some serious concerns about the next four years."
No $hit! With all your bizarre obsessing over the Rev. Wright/Bill Ayers/closet Muslim/drug dealer/birth certificate/"Whitey"/etc., I never had any idea that you might have any concerns about Obama! Tell me what else is on your mind!

What the USS Cole? It was forgotten. All the terrorists involved in the attack which killed our son have been freed by the Yemeni dictator Saleh of Yemen. Even though their is 5 million dollar reward for al-badwai who is currently being protected by our great ally Yemen. And no we learn today that Obama is going to send 90 plus terrorist back to him from Gitmo. Where they will return back to Al-Qaeda. Its insane. Catch them and the release them to kill more people. And it looks like even al-nashiri another Cole bomber will be returned back to yemen so he can rejoin his brothers in arms again. What is wrong with our leaders?

Pre 9/11 mentality at work!
Like the other great moonbat leader Jimmy, he thinks that sucking up to these nutjobs will make any difference.
What a friggen idiot!
This is like a bad dream that we won't be able to wake-up from!
(Weird, the radio just started playing "Enter Sandman" by Metallica)
It is like living in a weird Twilight Zone story line, I keep expecting to see William Shatner and that fuzzy monster any minute now!

That fuzzy monster? Do you mean SpacePussy? Spacepussy offers no arguments, just hostile drivel. How can anybody be convincing that way?

Gary,
Great website you have and quite timely in your visit.
It amazes me how the same tactic of rolling over that the Clinton administration did is now being repeated by the new nutjobs in Washington.
Their refusal to deal with the root causes of terrorism including the wordwide Caliphate that these guys want is going to lead to yet another attack on American's. GWB got it and took it to em. Now we are supposed to just sat around the campfire with these murderers and eat smores!
God bless you on the loss of you son, he is truly a hero and his sacrifice should not be in vain!
As I said the current mentality in Washington is a repeat of the same failed policy that Clinton used to appease these bastards. It really is like living in the Twilight Zone only this is real!

Gary,
My condolences.
Eric Holder's law firm represents Yemeni detainees. That's why.

Just got finished reading the newspapers - here's some tidbits -
January 27, 2009 Ralph Peters
"A NEW president with a strong domestic agenda and a career-long lack of interest in foreign policy inherits a distant war and feels he has to demonstrate his toughness: That was LBJ and Vietnam.
Will Afghanistan be President Obama's Vietnam, with Pakistan as Cambodia on steroids?

I see this one as a prelude to allowing Obama's administration to go ahead with torture
Dredging up the past will be tortuous business indeed - Richard Cohen
Tuesday, January 27th 2009, 4:00 AM
"The past is a different country. They do things differently there." So goes a very wise aphorism that needs to be applied to the current debate over whether those who authorized and used torture should be prosecuted. In the very different country called Sept. 11, 2001, the answer would be a resounding no.
Back then, a Washington Post poll gave George W. Bush an approval rating of 92%.
At the same time, questions about the viability of torture were very much in the air. Alan Dershowitz was suggesting the creation of torture warrants - permission from a court to, in effect, break some bones.

Hmmm.
"Obama believes he will defeat al Qaeda with a better education and health care plan to hear him tell it."
*shrug* where will he get the money for that?
I think quite a few Americans wouldn't be very happy to see mounds of their tax money going to support foreigners. Not in -this- economy at least.

Fred asks, "That fuzzy monster?"
I was referring to the classic Twilight Zone episode where William Shatner aka, Captain Kirk, is on the plane and see's the monster on the wing. No one else see's it or believes him and he ends up going nuts after he gets a hold of a gun and opens the door and shoots the Fuzzy Dude.
But you're right the trolls here as the metaphor's are similar to the fuzzy dude in the TZ episode as they are trying to bring the plane down with all on board suffering a horrible death!

With the mounting job casualties, here's hoping SCOTUS either finds someone, somewhere, has standing to require BHO's birth certificate or fixes attention on a criminal indictment before he wins his War on Prosperity.

Obama says his "recovery plan will include UNPRECEDENTED measures that will allow the American people to hold [his] administration ACCOUNTABLE" yet Obama refuses to be held ACCOUNTABLE to the same American people for his UNPRECEDENTED refusal to show his actual birth certificate.

OK, OK, OK, enough already, I can’t take any more hoaxes: First we have Al Gore’s global warming, next comes Obama being a constitutionally qualified President, followed by Obama’s stimulus plan, but now we have Robert Reich telling us why we need stronger unions. Are we heading for Saturday Night Live 24/7?
Posted by: Ted | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 01:41 PM
Iran, Taliban, radical Islamists, Saudi Arabia etc want God to rule their nations. They do not want the US lifestyle model (except the people that are falling away from God's ways.) God warns against debt, most interest, being surety (insurance) for anyone, seeking riches and honor, seeking man's wisdom instead of God's wisdom. He warns against pictures, lying and loving a lie, foolishness and violence (movies, TV and novels), and failing to love God's ways and our neighbor, the poor and needy. That definitely makes the USA system the evil empire. We are trying to export that lifestyle model; that causes wars etc.
Our ways is destroying us and the world. We must turn from the goal of employment and the personal and world problems it created. We must adopt God's retirement lifestyle of creating a garden paradise with fresh food from trees, plants and animals around us. Then we will not need an economic stimulus plan, everyone will be employed in making their own garden paradise and we will overcome pollution of air, land, water and food, global warming fears, energy crisis, poverty, inequality, war, immigration, reoccurring financial crises, disease and high health care costs and social security inadequacies.
We will not abort our babies who will grow and be a help in the garden and caring for the animals. They will take care of us in our old age and keep us young as we enjoy their growing years. There is no plan as fair, inexpensive, easy to implement and sustainable through eternity as the garden paradise; it is designed by God in all holy books; and He gives us the choice of blessings or cursings. Leviticus 26.
See Barack Obama prophecies at prophecies.org. The way is prepared, even with a financial system that does not run out or take from us, but gives to the needy. It is never-ending. We can only bring peace by choosing God's easy lifestyle.
