Hot Air cites a poll via Politico which purportedly suggests why Obama is targeting Limbaugh. It has Rush with unfavorable ratings right up there with Bush's.
"My guess is that some Democratic sponsored focus group conducted this week confirmed that voters in the middle perceive Rush Limbaugh as the antithesis to the Obama 'bipartisanship brand,' and as such, are not unhappy to see Limbaugh's profile in this right rise," he writes.
Yeah ... right - a Democracy Corp poll. Give me a break. They gotta do better than that before I buy it.

the last time they went after him this hard was fighting over health care in 93-94.
the last time the gop dealt the dems a massive defeat in congress was 94.
considering the scope and size of this stimulus, the msm has to fight back against limbaugh, becuase he is sitting on a gold mine of material. IF they don't put up a fight, they know how bad it will get for them come nov 2010.
I love the negative press and crazy libs turning limbaugh into the devil. People will go listening to his program and find they have far more in common with limbaugh than they do with the democrat party. They'll also be able to hear him in his own words, and not, selected parsings.

Still, I'm sure you're right. That poll is clearly biased. I mean, it's got John McCain outpolling Sarah Palin. That just can't be right, right?

Rush to liberals evokes a mindless, automated response, they're playing to their base.
I don't get why they would choose to do it now, when they have all the marbles, because if being a drug addict did nothing to dim his popularity being called out by Obama, Move on or the MSM isn't going to put a dent in his popularity.
It could have been one of those totally arrogant, off the cuff remarks that Obama made which didn't have any real subliminal messages....that got the whole ball rolling.
Rush is no Sarah Palin, the media can't destroy him, he's too smart and has already weatherered many controversies. I don't particularly like him, because he IS a hypocrite when it comes to drugs and because he's too mean spirited and nasty a lot of the time. But, I have to hand it to him for playing this beautifully, instead of backing down and claiming he was misquoted, acting ashamed or embarassed, he doubled down and gave it right back.

I'll give you credit, though, you did prove how hypocritical a political party can be. All that talk about clean government, no lobbyists, political payoffs and such was just that. What is wrong with liberals is that they believe in their party blindly. As for conservatives we realize that 95% of politians are crooked as hell no matter what party they belong to. The main difference is we like to earn our keep and you all believe the government should solve all of your problems. Im pissed at the republicans for allowing the 700 billion dollar bill to be passed and I will be more pissed if this one passes. No matter what party you align yourself with most would have to admit if the government is spending money on something they are most likely waisting 95% of it. Time will fix the economy and nothing else. If you must spend then give every American taxpayer $25,000 so at least we will directly benifit for what we am paying for. STOP WAISTING OUR FREAKING MONEY ON SHIT THATBENFITS ONLY A FEW! The long term problem that they are creating will be worst than the current problem.
