While there may or may not be negotiating room left in the Senate, the current bill to support Detroit car makers is in serious doubt. Through about five years invested in reading blogs, there's a fairly simple methodology I've adopted to develop a snapshot of sorts that helps me to predict the future of pending legislation and policy. While a rough indicator, it actually tends to hold up pretty well.
Is Michelle for or against it. And what about Glenn.
While Michelle notes House passage of a bill, the Senate is where the action is. That will be even more true with the incoming Senate.
Basically, if you believe that we are a somewhat center-right nation, Michelle's opinion generally tells you where Conservatives are, while Glenn represents the more libertarian-leaning, or center-right.
It's a rough indicator and a bill may still pass in some form, but if it does, some of the pols supporting it will do so knowing it comes with a potential political cost.
If it passes, it'll be because we're two-years away from any elections and some number of Senators are thinking they can find a way to counter the negatives from two years out. Most likely they'll say they had to do it to save the broader economy at the time.

Both are right wing hacks who have no relevance nor power. Your theory is preposterous.
I don't think it has yet sunk in. Conservatism has been rejected. Voted out. No longer in power.
Get used to it.

"I don't think it has yet sunk in."
Unbelievable, You continue to sound like a broken record with nothing to add to the discussion.
You are one of the most bitch slapped, irrelevant, cyber bully, asshats that I've ever had the misfortune to interact with!
You may think that being banned from a website because you are such an obnoxious dumbass may be a badge of honor but the only thing that hasn't "sunk in yet" is that no one here really gives a crap about what you think Harpo!
Get use(d) to it!
What a friggin loser you are and an obvious failure in life! Keep holding out for that free healthcare, you need it!

I think there needs to be term limits in the house and the senate. If this was done then all this corruption we see these days would stop somewhat.
If this were to happen then much more could be done in congress for the good of our country without these clowns in the House and Senate being in fear of not being relected. They should have no more tnan 8 years in thier position. The President can only be President for 8 years. Why not congress ? How do we start a petition to get this done ??
The car companies will get their bailout. Who is appointed to oversee its use will be an important factor. I am glad that President Bush will be the one appointing the CarZar. At least their will be some sensible oversight and not ignorant stupid demands that a Dumb Dem would put on them.
And this is for you harp !

I was just reading the bill and guess what ? You guessed it. An attachment. F--g dems always have to add something. Scum of the earth creeps.
"Also included in the bill is an unrelated pay-raise for federal judges."

Instead of bailing out the US auto industry, top 5%er Warren Buffet should do a join venture with top 5%er Oprah Winfrey. Warren buys all US Autos made then Oprah can give them as gifts to the worldwide population.
They'll be helping their Smartest President in the Universe spread around their wealth while bringing Happy to the planet.

I have to take the fifth on this one WB,
One of my best friends and golf buddies is a federal judge! He has a special needs child and could use some extra money to ensure her long term care needs are met.
Although these guys do get a lifetime appointment most of them could make considerably more in private practice. Also their caseload is off the chart. There are still openings for more judges but they don't get filled and the backload of cases is huge!
The real issue is that by inserting this in a unrelated bill it doesn't pass the "light of day" test that ALL legislation should have!
