Somehow Palin versus Kennedy has become the subject of debate in some media corners. Kathleen Parker, who was against the eminently more qualified Palin, boils her argument down to Kennedy being one of a hundred and were Palin elected with McCain Iran would have gotten nuclear weapons. No, I'm not kidding. Discussing how idiots like Parker end up with a career in large media might prove more enlightening than discussing Kennedy's obvious lack of qualifications and experience for the Senate.
Goldberg takes the opposite view and Charles Krauthammer, as usual, has a good read on the subject, though he doesn't discuss Palin. Frankly, there isn't much point to comparing the two unless you're more interested in media memes and how Beltway pundits entertain themselves.
Another pro-Palin comparison via Hot Air headlines. Looks like Allah found another good looking babe to link. I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, by the way. But if someone did a study in media, I'd suspect you'd find that females, particularly when they are somewhat attractive, feature their likeness far more prominently than men.
That's marketing, which, to return to Kennedy, is about all she has going for herself.
If the Democrats want to brand themselves as the party of un-elected heraldry and the Fairness Doctrine, I may fight it, but ultimately it will serve a somewhat more populist and widespread conservative appeal throughout the electorate in the end.

still waiting for Parker to make a distinction between Obama and Palin in regards to experience...
I won't hold my breath.
The Kathleen Parker/ NRO marriage...

This is where I have to laugh-
Kathleen Parker writes a book-"Save the Males: Why Men Matter, Why Women Should Care"
Let me provide the first names of the Buckley School of Public Speaking Faculty (Parker is part of the 'Consulting Faculty')
Reid (Buckley)-it is his school-
Karen, Harriet, Caroline, Carol, Jenny, Barbara, Jana, and Laura.

Of course not the main point, but in the article you link to Kathleen Parker ridicules Palin's ignorance with this comment: "As vice president, she would have been a heartbeat away from The Button, though she would not have been 'in charge of the U.S. Senate,' as she told a child who asked what the vice president does."
Umm, according to the U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 3, "The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate." This is pretty much the only specific constitutional duty of the vice president. So it seems to me this is pretty much the correct answer to the child's question, stated in terms a child could understand. Did Parker not even read the Constitution before ridiculing Palin for not knowing the Constitution?

Kathleen Parker and Linda Chavez. Both ex-conservatives. Both trying to destroy our country but in different ways. Let them both rot in liberal limbo.

As a blogger, I'm conflicted about how to cover idiots like Parker. On the one hand, should I not inform my 3 readers about her and her faulty reasoning and views? Or should I spend my finite time on planet Earth writing about somehow whose views would likely take hours to untangle and explain?
____________
Whether in media or not, attractive women tend to know that they're attractive. Little wonder that they advertise their image like Chairman Mao. (See MySpace.com.) They have (at least) 2 reasons to flaunt (yes, flaunt) their beauty: (1) They leverage it to get mindless men to visit their website, for example (2) they're fishing for compliments and approval. There are actually more than two reasons, of course, but I'll refrain from making any $exist generalizations.
Someday men might stop feeding the egos of these shallow women, although I am not holding my breath.

Of course Parker did not. You see, Parker's intent was and is merely to ridicule, and by reading the Constitution, Parker would be risking the chance that she's WRONG. We can't have that! How could she then mock Palin after that? (Well, she still would. When have these media types ever had any shame?)

So now that it's OK to utter the middle name of the President-elect,
when will we be allowed to say the name Schlossberg(sp?) instead of constantly substituting the association with the dynasty named for one of Americas greatest criminal rum-runners?
