Someone needs to inform Representative Davis that with a corrupt governor digging in in office, a legislature dragging their heels on a special election for fear of losing to the other side, while a Special Prosecutor asks them to hold off on impeachment for fear of tainting his case and a US Senate that will convene at least one member from Illinois shy this year, her Illinois is not now the "Land of Lincoln." It is, however, based on his recent political history if nothing else, the land of Barack Obama. I'll grant her that.
NY Times: No Illinois governor has been impeached, but State Representative Monique D. Davis, a Chicago Democrat, said the impeachment inquiry needed to move forward to remove the cloud over the state.
“It’s the Land of Lincoln,” Ms. Davis said. “It’s the land of Barack Obama.”
Heck, with eventual lawsuits in MN dragging on who knows how long, we may be at 48 Senators for some time. While that's still more than the number at any time he was in office, I'm thinking America isn't quite the "Land of Lincoln" these days it once was, either.
Whether it becomes the land of Barack Obama or not remains to be seen. But it would be nice to wait at least until he's done something besides win an election to even speculate.

Things are moving ahead nicely in Minnesota. And second to Obama wiping the floor with McCain I couldn't be happier.
Norm Coleman is going down. Most of Coleman's challenges are as fraudulent as he is.
Current intrade numbers. Franken/75 wins 25. Coleman/29 wins you 71.
How sweet is that?

Howdy Dan! I was going to post here but since it is now the JHARP blog, rant, piss on America, lie and insult blogsite, I won't bother. You are providing that hopelessly baised pathetic malignant turd with a Forum at your expense. I can get horseshit logic and propaganda at Pravda or Al Jazeera or at the Worthless Kos Marxist site.
I appreciate your sense of tolerance but I can have my intelligence insulted only so many times by folks of no character, good sense or values. In my 28 years of Service, we took an oath to defend every word of the Constitution against All Enemies, Foreign or Domestic. I am retired now and the Domestic ones like that punk JHARP are safe from my service.
My final post here. Take Care and God Bless You Sir!
Reading posts here is like reading scribbling on restroom walls now.

Hmmm sounds like an inability to compete. But that's my opinion.

"My final post here. Take Care and God Bless You Sir!"
Same to you, my friend. That's the wonderful thing about America. We are all mostly free to decide, come, go, speak, even argue.
That's precisely what you were fighting for and what you chose to defend. And I salute your service and am able to adhere to such principles because of people like you who chose to do it.

boo to jharp and willie...i don't think competing has anything to do with it. Some people just have more intelligence than you two and get a little sick of poorly written sarcasm. Just as many of Frankin's challenges were dismissed and are just as silly as many of Colemans. The whole process is beyond ridiculous, but most ridiculuos of all is the election of a totally unqualified foul mouth as a senator. That's the real joke on Minnesota. Furthermore, 5% is hardly wiping the floor. But I guess I only write this for Dan and old trooper because you have such closed minds and amazing inability to actually discuss anything that you wouldn't get it anyway.
Posted by: northstar | Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 06:42 PM
Uh northstar, nothing makes one look more ignorant than when one butts into other's discussions without knowing the history of those in the discussion. You know the whole "Better to keep mute and be thought a fool, rather than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." saw. Or as we say in the south. This is an A-B discussion, why dont you C your way out.

The land of Lincoln maybe but the Land of Barry? Try Kenya!
According to the Gov. it's the "Land of Good and Plenty"!
Good luck trooper, another victim of the delusional, the pathetic, the one and only "Banned One".
Realize that you are not alone in your opinion of Harpo. I've never seen anyone get hammered and slapped around like this boy but given Dan's "fairness doctrine" approach to allowing open access it isn't likely that he will add Riehl World to the Banned One's list of "had enough of his crap" sites.
It is pathetic that someone would center their world around any blog site especially when it's veiws run counter to their own. His need to race to be the first to post a response but never have ANYTHING to add to the discussion is a sad example of someone that needs to get a life.
As ET and others have remarked Harpo is an obvious failure in life. He wants nothing more than to be taken care of by his nanny government and suck off of the public teet! I don't know what imaginary business this guy claims to run but given the amount of time and effort he spends trolling around conservative blog sites he is lucky to make enough to feed his family, let alone donate a dime to charity or hope to provide a college education for his kids.
Keep hanging in there for that free healthcare, you need it more each and every day mate!
Dan you simply have the patience of Job!

jharp is just not very smart. He is incapable of intelligent discourse so he resorts to sophomoric sloganeering. He also has invested his entire self image on the misguided notion that America is a country full of liberals who would fix all of our problems if only us evil conservatives would get out of the way. His recent rantings are the direct result of his subconscious realization that he is dead wrong on that...even his messiah, uncle barry, is proving to be a realistic centrist driven more by his own ambition and ego than by any strongly held principles. and he will govern from the center-right, since that is where the vast majority of Americans live.
Add to that his failure as a small businessman and his lousy home life and you can almost understand his rage.
I sure would hate to lose posters like Old Troop just because some idiot splatters this site with incoherent nonsense. I either just ignore him or, when I am in a playful mood, I poke him with a stick through his cage. He is a fool and not to be taken seriously.

Damn, you'ns are a wee bit hard on his Harpness I think. Not totally inaccurate maybe but hard. Like ET I suspected Obie would be more of a realist after he graduates from "WTF is really going on 101" but center right may be a stretch.....Unless of course one is moving right from way out in left field closer to the center. I'm holding out that he will do some good things and I'm very willing to give him a chance. Then I'm even more willing to laugh at the disappointed who expect never to worry about filling their cars or paying their mortgages again.
ET do be careful poking the harpie with a stick though. You dont want dogstar or northstar or whatever she is to come swooping in to tell you how closed minded you are.

Bingo.
My hope is that he's in his early 20's...that would at least give some plausible explanation for his ideological rantings, too young to know better.

Since we're piling on the idiot, let me say that jharp has sickened me to the point where I rarely visit Dan's blog these days, even though I like and respect STM, Willie, ET and though I don't always agree with him, definitely bow to anon in his sheer mental abilities. I can even stomach the Total Queer and Lame-on, but harpie is the equivilent of a stick bomb. You just can't stand to stay in the same room with the bastard.

Haha, that's ...."equivalent of a stink bomb". Makes more sense now, doesn't it?
Posted by: templar knight | Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 08:56 PM
Well, maybe we should nickname him "stinky"?
LOL

Just watched the Colts clinch a playoff spot. It's been quite a run for me and my son.
And no hard feelings here. Hope everyone feels the same. Sure I've done some gloating. And sure maybe I've piled it on a little too much.
But keep in mind I've had to accept a lot of the bullshit of the last seven years being called a traitor, unAmerican, and so forth. And it turns out the right wingers were wrong on everything.
So be it. I think it's a good blog. And Dan deserves credit.
Cheers to all.
