LMAO Well, this is sure to explode some heads in the blogosphere. Frankly, it should. How about this - when is the leader of an Islamic state going to go somewhere and make an earth shattering speech on the need for Muslims to accept Israel as a state and denounce Islamic extremism enmass?
Oh, but they can't do THAT! It would problaby get them killed. So leave it to a Hopey-Changey President-elect to go to the Islamic world and sing Kumbaya, my allah, Kumbaya! Or maybe Weird Al's Ayatollah would suffice?
WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama’s aides say he is considering making a major foreign policy speech from an Islamic capital during his first 100 days in office.
So where should he do it? The list of Islamic world capitals is long, and includes the obvious —Riyadh, Kuwait City, Islamabad — and the not-so-obvious — Male (the Maldives), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Some wise-guys have even suggested Dearborn, Mich., as a possibility.
Clearly it would be cheating for Mr. Obama to fly to Detroit, talk to Dearborn’s 30,000 Arab residents and call it a day. And Male and Ouagadougou, while certainly majority Muslim, can’t really be what Mr. Obama’s aides have in mind when they talk about locales for a high-profile speech that would seek to mend rifts between the United States and the broader Muslim world.
At this rate, the guy's going to end up making Jimmah Carter look like a Hawk when it comes to radicals. Oh wait, no doubt he'll also tell them to behave or he will slap their wrists ... if the UN says he can.
Sure, he's going to lecture them and work to come off as all strong and all. He isn't dumb. Meanwhile, the mullahs will be laughing their asses off at the latest liberal American loon to come along.
Between this and his liberal bail-out policies, I can already sense the approval numbers starting to tank.

Oh gee, Harpo, I forgot your opening line to the thread:
"You are a fool."

"He said he was going into Pakland to get bin-Laden."
Reading Fred's quote, you'd think a US invasion of Pakistan was imminent. It's not. He removed the qualifiers and distorted what Obama said.
First, Obama has to be satisfied we've found Bin Laden or other Al Qaeda. Second, Pakistan has to refuse to act. And most likely, should we act, it will be using an unmanned drone, which has already been done multiple times.

"-- First, Obama has to be satisfied we've found Bin Laden or other Al Qaeda. Second, Pakistan has to refuse to act. And most likely, should we act, it will be using an unmanned drone, which has already been done multiple times. --"
Yes, but that will have been under the Bush Administration, at which point the wingnuts would screech about ticking time bombs and mushroom clouds and "Jack Bauer would do it" and how Bill Clinton was fully responsible for 9/11 because he didn't personally hang Bin Laden with piano wire when he had the chance.
Under the Obama administration, international bureaucratic boundaries will be in full force and pressure against existing terror cells will be referred alternately as "wreckless adventurism" and "not decisively aggressive enough".
It's lose-lose with the wingnut brigades. Of course if Obama had only run as a Republican, he wouldn't need to put up with all this skirt-twisting cry-baby bullshit.

Moe, it must be wonderful to have the gift of seeing the future. How do you do it?
As for Worst, that well known military strategist and tactician and foreign affairs maven,
"First, Obama has to be satisfied we've found Bin Laden or other Al Qaeda." No s---, Dick Tracy, how could it be otherwise? If he can't be found, Obie certainly couldn't kill him, now could he. Why did I use the quote if I were trying to distort its meaning. It is pretty clear what he was saying and I too will let the readers judge. Hillary Clinton said this about Obie's statement: "You can think big but remember you shouldn't always say everything you think when you're running for president because it could have consequences across the world and we don't need that right now," said Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y." Same link as above.

The trick is to study the past. Conservatives are a big fan of upholding tradition.

"Yeah, around here your term asininity is very flattering to me. You guys have been wrong on everything and I come here to point it out."
Get over yourself you deranged, pompous, juvenile, asshole.

When Obama makes a speech to Muslims, the first thing he will say is:
HOW BOUT A "GROUP HUG" my fellow muslims ! LOL
ROTF....

"what is wrong with making a speech from a Muslim country."
Nothing. I suggest Great Britain.

"Or maybe Weird Al's Ayatollah would suffice?"
You might mean Steve Dahl's "Ayatollah."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inQiIkz7J5Y
Weird Al Yankovic made "My Bologna." But of course either one would suffice.
