In light of the Blago appointment controversy, some may recall Harry Reid sending a letter to Rush Limbaugh falsely accusing Limbaugh of demeaning our troops. Rush used the foolhardy letter to demean and diminish Reid and raise over $2 Million for our troops on Ebay.
To much fanfare, Reid recently issued another letter, signed by all the Democrats in the Senate, to Blagojevich:
Please understand that should you decide to ignore the request of the Senate Democratic Caucus and make an appointment we would be forced to exercise our Constitutional authority under Article I, Section 5, to determine whether such a person should be seated.
But as a matter of Law, it's highly unlikely Reid and the Democrats have anything to say about the Blago appointment in the end.
Traditionally, a "man of letters" was considered to be someone of merit, particularly in an intellectual sense. We can forget intellect in Reid's case, as a Senate leader, he apparently doesn't even know the Law.
An intellectual (from the adjective meaning "involving thought and reason") is a person who tries to use his or her intelligence and analytical thinking, either in their profession or for the benefit of personal pursuits.
It's the lack of substance here I'm getting at. At a time when everyone seems to be insisting America needs good leadership, Reid as Senate Leader repeatedly opts for style and politics over substance, reducing what's supposed to be an important body of government to a silly sham.
If people are correct and we do seriously need good leadership right now, I'm afraid Americans are going to have to look somewhere else than at a Harry Reid to provide it. Is it any wonder he may find himself in an election jam?

Another example of the Federal Government over reaching their powers...this is an issue the state must resolve not the pathetic dumbocraps with their 5% approval rating!

Hopefully, the troops will come home and clean out the stables.

It sometimes helps to remember that Harry Reid used to be an amateur boxer. A history of repeated blows to the head could explain some things.
