Just what America needs, another Kennedy to kick around. She hasn't even made a single statement to "the people" on what she stands for. Even the Left isn't pleased and Gawker is making jokes. She's relying on her family connections political network. God bless the ruling elite.
One can argue as to whether or not she's ever had a real job an average American could relate to. And then there's this:
She is one of the founders (and still presenter) of the Profiles in Courage Award, given annually since 1990 to a person who exemplifies the type of courage examined in her father's Pulitzer Prize-winning book of the same name.
The award is generally given to elected officials who, acting in accord with their conscience, risk their careers by pursuing a larger vision of the national, state or local interest in opposition to popular opinion or powerful pressures from their constituents.
Winner - 2006. John Murtha
That's about all I need to know about "Sweet Caroline." Not that people are going to get a chance to vote on it, or anything. The Examiner asks, what has she done to earn the seat?

This is as sad as the local US house seat that opened up a couple of years back when long term Democrat Robert Matsui died. Guess who got the seat handed to them.. yea that's right his wife! No experience just.. his wife, no local mayor or state senator, just... his wife.
She just ran for and got the seat with no real challenger! This is a heavy democrat area and the republican didn't stand a chance. She didn't have to spend any money campaigning and I'm sure the extra campaign money was handed down to the kids and grandkids in the form of "advisors" or "aides" salaries.
Enough with the parsing out of these powerful positions, didn't we have a tea party once when the people were left out of the whole "representation" thing?
The problem is that these folks get in by being given the job for no real reason other that their name!
How about the people having a say every now and then?

There should be an election. Let the voters decide. On the matter of the profiles in courage award....that has become a disgrace. Ted Kennedy himself received the award a number of years ago. It doesn't take long for an award of this kind to become perverted...this is a perfect example.

It's kind of quiet around here. Environmentalists are up in arms over this - (I'd like to go to Dubai, just to see)
World's first refrigerated BEACH to be built next to luxury hotel in Dubai

The world's first refrigerated beach is to be built at a luxury hotel in Dubai so the filthy rich holidaymakers don't burn their feet on the scalding hot sand.
The revolutionary beach will sit next to the new Palazzo Versace hotel and will include a system of heat-absorbing pipes built under the sand and giant wind blowers, designed to keep tourists cool in the searing 40-50C heat.
The hotel, which is due to open late next year or early 2010, will be controlled by thermostats linked up to computers and feature a cooled swimming pool.

I heard Peter King is in the running. Gov. Paterson could surprise everyone and appoint him.
"Mondello Urges Paterson to Appoint Pete King to Senate
ALBANY, NY (12/11/2008; 1519)(readMedia)-- Declaring that tough economic times demand that New Yorkers are represented by a real fighter in the U.S. Senate, state Republican chairman Joseph N. Mondello today urged Governor David Paterson to appoint Representative Peter T. King to that body once Senator Hillary Clinton is confirmed as U.S Secretary of State.
"The Governor should put partisan politics aside and do what is in the best interests of the people of New York," Mondello declared. "We need a real fighter in the United States Senate, someone who, from the moment he steps onto the floor of that august body, never stops advancing the cause of the hard working men and women of the Empire State.

"There should be an election. Let the voters decide."
Should we send you the bill for the cost of such election?
There is a process in place and it should be followed. It's quite simple. Quit your whining.

The president elect proves you don't have to be smart or have experience to get elected, you just need connections. Democrats should never complain as the country goes down the flusher. Look at the idiots you elected to congress
A roaring economy destroyed in less than two years by the Peeloshi, Reid, Hussein Machine. That's the Chicago way. I saw people today destroying evey last bit of pride they have to defend Hussein O's lies about Blago. Hussein lied big time, did he state 'I did not have sex with that man'.

Harpo doesn't like what democratic voting sometimes brings, but especially what it sometimes does not bring, eg, socialized medicine.

Harpie should really go on the road, he kills! Funny, he didn't "feel" this way when a majority of Californians voted against gay marriage.

Roadkill - good idea Willie.

Caroline Kennedy is qualified to be a Senator because her father was Prez? Well unlike Hillary and least she didn't have to sleep her way to the top.

Hey Jack, There's a slightly used senate seat from Illinois on E-Bay.....Maybe you should bid on it.

I feel the same way about Prop 8 as I do about white folks and blacks folks being allowed to marry. A majority of voters can't vote someone civil rights away. It is exactly the reason we have three co equal branches of government. Give it a little time. The bigots will lose.
