Obama Is Smart To Use Clinton People
So, Obama is appointing Clinton people? Well, he started running for President so soon after hitting DC, think of them as sort of seeing eye dogs for a guy who simply doesn't know his way around. Whether they prevent him from knocking his head against something early on is an entirely different matter.
Via Instapundit - Obama's taking some ribbing from expected and even unexpected places for it.
Atleast Obama seems to appreciate his lack of experience in Washington and on the serious side of the International stage. He has no "Obama" people. He wasn't in DC long enough. While I may not like the players when it comes to their politics, given my real concern over Obama's lack of credentials for the Oval Office, I prefer seeing this, as opposed to a bunch of fresh faces with the same, or even less experience than Obama.
Add in the current direction of the new Left, I'd probably be even more concerned with a lot of fresh, relatively unknown faces in an Obama administration, particularly as there are so many serious issues on the incoming President's plate. Do we really want the DC equivalent of Marcos Moulitsas running the FCC? Though, unfortunately, we may yet see some of that before Obama's through.
I do wish the New York Times had paid more serious attention to Obama before he was elected. But it's too late for that now. And while I expect to be taking a lot of shots at the guy, all things considered, this is one move I'm more or less glad to see.

This is getting really funny. The libs think they have elected a new ultra left leader, but they have simply reelected the Clinton White House.

Obama equals Charlie McCarthy. Politics on TV is going to be all "talking Points" again. Everyone will speak the same code words. "Gravitas" comes to mind.

And the campaigning for the next election will begin on day 1.

Emmanuel may be really happy he recruited those moderate Blue Dog Democrats to run in 2006 and 2008 House races, because they may be all that saves Obama the president from Obama the "Hope and Change" campaigner who made too many promises to too many people. Bill Clinton could move to the right after 1994 and triangulate while his people could keep the left relatively silent by pointing to Gingrich and the Republican Congress. Obama has no one to play off of on his right who has any power at all in Washington right now, which means the rabid left isn't going to swallow any justification for moving to the right by an Obama Administration, since the rabid left is the ultimate immediate gratification crowd. Telling them that following their ideas will lead to a loss of seats and/or the White House in 2010 and 2012 isn't going to register.

Guns, ammunition, and Spam are selling like hotcakes. Wonder why.

I'm sure Hillary was pleased to find out that "Hope and Change" meant hiring all her old friends. The One does appear to be getting the most partisan Clintonistas though, doesn't he?

Fred, you are right there. Campaigning is the natural place for a narcissist. Public service...meh. That forces you to settle on positions and answer questions and take flak. That is so 20th century.

Only Fred Beloit and other ultra stupid people ever thought that President Obama would be anything other than moderately left of center.

Although hope and luck are not methods, we can hope that with luck those Blue Dog Dems in the Congress will join with the remaining GOP members to keep the most Liberal of the Dems from running whole thing off of a Left Wing cliff.

Why is Obama's close friend and congressman (D-Chicago) Rahm Emanuel a Clinton crony? Yes, he worked for Clinton ten years ago. His ties to Rahm are closer than Wright's and Ayers combined.

I WANT TO FIX HILLARY CLINTON FOR STAYING WITH BILL WHEN SHE SHOULD HAVE DIVORCED HIM OVER:
1. HIS ANTIMASTURBATION
2. HIS CHEATING ADULTERY
ALSO IM AGAINST HER NOT LISTENING TO ME ABOUT VOTING AGAINST THE ANTI POKER BILL (PHONE CALLS, LETTERS) AND RECEIVING FUNDING FROM HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY OVERCHARGING AND AGE DISCRIMINATING. I ALSO BELIEVE LIKE JOE LIEBERMAN THAT BILL CLINTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMPEACHED AFTER ILLEGALLY CHEATING ON HIS WIFE.

Is there any reason to think it will turn out better this time?

"....other ultra stupid people ever thought that President Obama would be anything other than moderately left of center."
Ah come right on out and say "the majority of those who voted for him"

Known incompetence always beats unknown incompetence. The Clinton crowd is a pretty well known quantity and it makes it easier to know which pocket to put your wallet in.
With Nancy and Harry running the show and some weak knee's Republicans out their that like pork as much as the liberals do - this should be an interesting year or so.
Bi-Partisan will be a thing of the past.
McCain has been asked to go to Chicago and bend over the barrel and he is dumb enough to give his all in the name of bipartisanship. What will McCain agree to in order to keep his buddy Lieberman in power?
I can't wait!
If Sarah Palin wasn't running I would not have voted for the weak Senator from Arizona.

Wahoo Willie, "the majority who voted for him" are also moderately left of center as is most of America. You and your ilk are deluded as is most of the Republican party.

"You and your ilk are deluded"
No no my poor partisan bozo, it is you and all aprtisans who are deluded. Perhaps those like yourself more than the average voter. I and my ilk have striven to educate you partisans that all you do is trade one rich white guy for another every 4-8 years. There my sneezing and wheezing friend is the truth and the only "change" you brought us is that now one of the rich white guys is only 1/2 white. You go ahead and sleep well in your ignorance boo boo, be prepared for the disappointments ahead for you.....and pray that your caliope doesn't crash to the ground.

Incredible how Obama has to pick retread Clinton hacks to cover for his inexperience and immaturity.

Astonishing how many of you don't get it yet. This is what we voted for. This will be the most corrupt (real corruption, not the imagined corruption of the Bush administration) administration in history. That's saying a lot. Clinton and his wife were smart enough to keep a lot of the jokers they surrounded themselves with in check. Obama isn't, is too inexperienced, and way too naive. Plus, Obama is inclined to reflexively want to take us down a notch. He's intent on creating a third world style government for us. Open your ears. We are in a "financial crisis." The people responsible for putting us here (no, not Bush you kool-aide drinkers) are now advisors and cabinet members for Obama. For the first time in history, we have a leader (the President Elect) who isn't talking about ways to get our economy back on track or to correct the problems. Instead, he's talking about pain, future hard times, sacrifice, and dramatic "change." Idiots. He's telling you he's INTENTIONALLY going to exacerbate the problems. INTENTIONALLY. Get used to third world cronyist style corrupt government, economic decline, and the creation of a permanently entrenched lower and middle class whose "rights" are controlled by the government and whose livelyhood becomes entirely dependent on the continued success of Democrat party. I may have to go into politics. All I'd have to do is spew some worthless platitudes to the public and incompetent "journalists", then cut backroom deals with the owners of "green" companies for donations and special legislation benefits. The worst President Elect ever is soon to become the worst President ever (again, for real, not imagined).
