Steven Den Beste offers up why "it's not the end of the world."

I agree in some large part, but not completely. Obama is a smart guy and will have one eye on 2012 from the start. It's only a second term that would give him the free hand he might want. I also think the office of the presidency can have a transformative effect on an individual.

Time will tell but Obama may not prove to be the Leftist many fear, at least not in a first term. What I can't wait to hear or read is the first black activist who tells us that because Obama doesn't give them everything they want, "he's not really black!"

That one - and it is coming, is going to be rich!

So, is it, or is it "not the end of the world"?

I've yet to figure out what's so Leftist about the man, aside from "if we end this senseless war we can afford more social programs". Hardly Huey Long stuff.

hillary would have less moderate than bill, although she is close to rangel who, along with barney frank were looking to cut corporate taxes, with supply side theme.

To the college boys & girls, "this senseless war" is what has kept our country untouched in seven years. It's called STRATEGY. After enduring several attacks by militan moooslims all through the 90s, we went on the offensive, which not only kills them but ties them up, uses their resources and keeps them busy 24/7 in Afghanistan and Iraq and thus have less time to plot their 2nd act to 9/11.

And yes, since Barry has an extrememly thin resume, we can only go by what he says and his character, which is based largely on his associations. Communists, anarchists, socialists, moooslims. Great, just great. But he's soooo smart and even tempered. What a joke.

How many dead Americans again in Iraq and Afghanistan? I think Al Qaeda would cheerfully trade three, four, even ten of their own for one American or Allied death, and so far the proven numbers are going their way. And I'm not even counting the civilian casualties, of which each and every one is a propaganda victory for the bad guys.
So yes, let's get out of Iraq, we never should have gone in in the first place (and yes, I have said that from day 1).
