It won't be, as we await the coronation. But as some are dismissing this Newsweek piece as really nothing new, or focusing on a possible Palin Wallace feud, I find this bit fairly troublesome. That "quick run" of "databases" violated a citizen's right to privacy. And the way this is posed, it strongly suggests Obama operatives were in the loop. As if we didn't know that.
At first, Joe the Plumber made the Obamaites anxious. When McCain brought him up at the third debate, suggesting that Obama wanted to raise his taxes and "spread the wealth around," Obama operatives worried that the candidate had been somehow set up—that Joe, who had chatted briefly with Obama at a rally, had been sent there to entrap the candidate before the cameras (a clip had already shown up on YouTube). A quick run of computer databases suggested that if Joe was a plant, he was a poor one. He was not a licensed plumber, he had some messy court papers dealing with his family life, his name wasn't Joe (his real name was Samuel Wurzelbacher) and it was unlikely that Obama's plan would actually raise his taxes.

Greetings intrepid Patriots!! It is a new day in America! Sadly for most of you, the alarm clock was never set. But no matter! Many of you bitter clingers will be dragged into the 21st century and won't even know it. I welcome Indiana, Virginia and North Carolina into the fold! Jefferson Davis would be so proud.
Remember PRESIDENT B HUSSEIN Obama is everyone's president! Mission Accomplished!!

Boob I see you are using his middle name now. How interesting. Before you avoided it so well.
Meanwhile the speculation is on as to what schools the Obama children will go in DC. The betting is on private schools same as they are in in Chicago. Let the hypocrisy begin.

Rham Emanuel, a cross between a hemroid and a toothache according to Begala, selected as a primary agent of change. I can't stop laughing.

How is sending your kids to private schools instead of bad public schools hypocrisy? After all, he is advocating for better public schools but they just aren't there yet.

The fact that America has a black guy whose middle name is HUSSEIN as president is both inspirational and indicative of how badly the party of Bush and Larry Craig f'ed up the country. But cheer up, I'm sure that by 2024 or so you guys will be relevant (maybe). You could even run that angry old man again in 2024. Yes patriots, John McCain 2024, 86 years old and more experienced than ever!

I wonder where the stock market will be on Inauguration Day. We should get a pool going on that one.
We could have buyer's remorse except there won't be any buyers left by then.

Peg, in spite of what the left-wingers would have you believe, a President alone cannot destroy our economy. He would have to have the collusion of the Congress to even try. I don't think much of most Demos in Congress, but I don't think they are suicidal. I look at the current market as a buying opportunity.

Perhaps if that article had read "a quick run of public records" instead of "a quick run of computer databases", you'd understand that it probably didn't violate anyone's right to privacy. Which, as an aside, I wish really had been written down in the Constitution so we could count on it, instead of just lurking in the so-called "penumbra".

Here is a very, very good question from a commenter at PowerLineNews blog:
How is it possible that every single vote being newly found in Minnesota is for Franken? At least that is the way it is being reported.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Friday, November 07, 2008 at 10:03 AM
Boob, I changed my registration yesterday from independent to Republican. I'm fired up and fed up, so let the games begin.
As an aside, I'm still trying to think of one nation in this world that is led by a black man that is prospering. Let me know if you can think of any.

No, Fred. That is not how it is being reported. The commenter at powerlinenews is either misinformed or lying.
"The margin in the tightest Senate race in the country bounced like the stock market throughout the day, with the difference between Coleman and Franken dropping, then rising briefly to 590 votes before shooting down to a razor-thin 236 by day's end."

I truly wonder how so much disinformation is out there. And I might add 99% of it comes from the right. Yes, lefties make mistakes but they correct them.

I don't know Fred but it's kinda cool hunh? Maybe the areas where they are finding votes are heavy Franken areas or maybe some GOP operative stuck a bunch of votes in his/her pants (j/k).

"As an aside, I'm still trying to think of one nation in this world that is led by a black man that is prospering."
Templar,
Please. It has nothing to do with the color of one's skin.
And most if not all of the industrialized nations are led by white guys.
Another reason to be proud of being an America. We hit another first electing a black man to lead us.

I can't think of any nation in this world run by a stammering fool that is prospering either.
P.S. When the Mexicans get their amnesty your GOP registration won't matter. Have fun in Mexico Norte!
Hope.Change.

"Yes, lefties make mistakes but they correct them." Harpo
Here is one that won't be corrected. Emanuel was a Director of Freddie Mac:
"According to a complaint later filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac, known formally as the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002.
Emanuel was not named in the SEC complaint (click here to read) but the entire board was later accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) (click here to read) of having "failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention."

It is you who needs to get a life.
We, the winners, have some governing to do. It is you, the loser, who has nothing to do.

I guess you never wondered how it came that Obama's aunt became an October Surprise.
Hint: Unlike this Joe the Plumber business, her case was leaked by federal officials who blatantly broke the law. Some might call this a key difference.
Wingnuts might call it... *crickets*

Well, Harpo, congratulations are in order. What office have you been elected to fill?
