So this young-ish Hispanic guy wearing a baseball hat was buying up copies of the Washington Post a while ago in my local 7-11.
An older black fellow behind commented, "They're going fast," stating that this was history. He's right, of course.
The guy buying the papers seemed hurried but took the time to respond. "Yeah, I'm putting them in the attic. I figure in about ten years, they're going to be worth a fortune on e-Bay"
LMAO Perhaps. And he likely won't want to have to pay any more in taxes on those dollars in ten years than he has to, either.
The fundamental spirit of America is just fine, folks. It would also have been a bit of mild history had Republicans won a third term this time out. Add in the economic crisis, which McCain fumbled on - and that we only lost by 6% - this ain't the end of the world.
Conservatives and America will survive. We just need to stay in the fight and get better at it when and where we can.

"- this ain't the end of the world.
Conservatives and America will survive."
America will not only survive but will prosper.
And conservatism will be delegated to where it belongs. About 20% of the country and have no say in elections for decades.
Fer christsakes.. ..you couldn't even get a conservative nominee for President. And his conservative VP choice even further sunk his chances.

I went to several newspaper dispensers this morning to get a copy of the paper for my children to keep and guess what? The two dispensers I stopped to buy a paper at were shattered in the front and all the papers were gone (this was at 7:30 in the morning. Guess some people can't buy newspapers anymore, they have to steal them.

Karen,
Had to be black people I'm sure.
Why would you post such utter horseshit? I think you are a liar.
I'm sure there is a police report to verify your claim. Right?

You are a bit rude this evening, jharp. Golf go badly? Your wood couldn't make a hole in one? Try a new verbal approach with your wife and you might score.

"--- Karen,

Really, Harpo... was sort of racism on your part necessary? Why does it have to be blacks?
Please, enjoy yourself, and go hang out with your soulmates over at Kos.
I can't say that you are giving us much cause to welcome you here any more.
Dan:
Not that you need it... but have my endorsement to ban "sore winners" like jharp who just can't keep themselves civil.

I still have my newspapers from the day after Ronald Reagan was elected, and the day after he was inaugurated.
It's a great thing to be a part of a movement that started from nowhere and ends up winning an election.
It will be our turn again someday.
