Um, Barney - one of Bush's dogs bit the finger of a guy from Reuters. I kind of like that dog.
White House correspondent Jon Decker reports that President Bush's dog Barney, going on a walk this morning on the North Lawn, let his reaction to the news show.
He "bit my right index finger this morning -- as I reached down to pet him," Decker said. The bite broke skin and the wound was bleeding enough to prompt White House physician Dr. Richard Tubb to treat Decker with antibiotics. He will also be getting a tetanus shot.

So, to clarify:
When a teacher yells at kids, that's bad.
When a dog bites a news reporter, that's good.
$5 say that if this was Obama's new puppy, Dan would be demanding the dog get euthanize on the spot.

You'd be wrong. Though I may have to start considering euthanizing some commenters who can't seem to enjoy any amount of fun without aqttacking everyone and everything they disgaree with.
It's getting old, folks.
Elections over.
Get a life.

I seem to remember libtards here citing stock market losses as evidence of bush's failures. Obama gets elected and the market drops 950 points in two days...
ever heard the phrase "vote of no confidence"?

I assume, although the story doesn't specifiy, that the rabies shot is for Barney to protect him from catching what the reporter has.

Maybe Obama will have a pet LLama who will spit on reporters from rueters????????????????????

They put biting dogs down right?

The eagle, the symbol of America, has both a left wing and a right wing. Without both wings in balance, the eagle is awkward and clumsy -- it doesn't look right or fly right. When in balance, the eagle is proud and majestic. And always remember, the eagle's heart, brains, and vision are always found near the center; its soul throughout.
Advice to the Dems: Don't go too far left unless you want big losses in congress and a one-term presidency.
Advice to the GOP: Don't stay too far right unless you want only a token political presence in Washington like during the FDR years.

Yes!
Finally!
Scotties do not like strange people touching them.
Posted by: ScottyOwner | Thursday, November 06, 2008 at 11:33 PM
ROTFL, LMAO!!!
Give that dog a medal!
He's better at enemy identification than any Republican now serving!
If I thought the Secret Service would let it through, I'd send him a truckload of premium dog chow!
And you know, the metaphor of a clueless liberal, poking his diseased finger in a dog's face, just asking to get bitten...that's Obama. That's his appeasement policy.

The dog was just trying to give the fellow a hot scoop:
"Dog Bites Commie Jerk"

And no, they do not put biting dogs down, if the dog is on it's own property, defending it's space/territory,and especially if an asshat is rude enough to stick their hand in the dog's face.
I understand your hate, but Jeez, to want to put a dog down because of the political affiliations of his owner?
That's really sad.
Posted by: ScottyOwner | Thursday, November 06, 2008 at 11:53 PM
Just another Republican attack dog!
And Lame-O, Dan's right, enough with the hate and you do need to get a life!
Can you trolls find humor in anything?
Posted by: SacTownMan | Thursday, November 06, 2008 at 11:55 PM
so lets get this straight
you guys hate big government and yet when the press questions the president, it's a terrible shame?

"-- And Lame-O, Dan's right, enough with the hate and you do need to get a life! --"
Hahaha. Enough with the hate indeed. We need less hate and more angry dogs loosed on newspaper reporters. Nothing says, "Election's over, can't we all get along" like the swill above.
I eagerly await Dan's future miserable trivia posts that highlight how much he hates, hates, hates, hates, hates everyone who didn't line up with the wingnut brigades this election cycle.

LMAO. Someone should remind that reporter not to stick his hands in a strange dog's face.
Guess there is some truth in a dog having
better judgment than most voters.........ruff ruff

Speaking of wingnut brigades not lining up this cycle, would you believe the latest angry anti-government tax protester is ..... Melissa Etheridge?

Actually I just hate dogs, regardless of political affiliation.

Barney did the right thing. Reporter moved too fast toward Barney's head. Guy was probably excited about being at the White House and forgot his dog manners.

I saw Dan's photo of the dog, but where is the photo of the newsie?

Oh well...News would have been: man bites dog. The dog was just doing his thing. Jonathan was just being nice. But Scotties are a bit touchy -- that is, people want to pet them and they don't like people touching them.
Posted by: Philip McDaniel | Friday, November 07, 2008 at 08:34 AM
LMAO @ Barney.
Right on, Scottie Owner! Scotties are the only pets I've ever known. They are darn cute and funny, but one cannot seek to pet them. They have to do the seeking. Also, the older they get, the crankier they become.
Piece of advice: Don't go shoving your hands in the faces of strange dogs and you won't get bitten.

One has to find Moe's particular brand of...I don't want to be too rude...let's just say anomaly quite interesting from a clinical point of view. Moe, twists events to suit his convictions, rather than observes an event and forms his convictions. "We need less hate and more angry dogs loosed on newspaper reporters."
Note the dogs have been loosed (passive voice). But who said "sig em" one wonders, and who loosed the "dogs" (plural) with the intention "they" should bite a reporter?
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Saturday, November 08, 2008 at 10:59 AM
I saw the clip. If the reporter had any clue about dog protocol, he would have presented the back of his hand for the dog to sniff rather than just trying to pet the dog. *sigh*
