As we've been discussing politics and policies so heatedly for so long, it's safe to assume that based upon our recent election and, now, new political leadership and their plans, perhaps as many as 20 million illegal immigrants aren't simply going to be given a path to citizenship and a driver's license, but guaranteed health care equal to their own, right?

Oh yeah, that national political discussion should be fun to watch.

this is another topic that mccain chose not to campaign on, ignoring the base and popualr sentiment.

had he run on a 'secure the borders first' he would have suffered with hispanics. although their polling had to have told them 3 months ago that they were fighting a losing battle on the demographic.

I can only imagine a 'fred thompson-like' candidate running on border enforcement.

The context of obama's illegal aunt living in govt housing would have been completely different. There is a list of Americans seeking public housing in every city. There isn't enough space for them. Compound the aunt living off the govt dole, illegally, with her sending 250 dollars to the campaign.

free housing, and she is using her money on campaigns?

mccain has no one to blame but himself. anytime the gop wants to win, the issue will remain. maybe they do need to get more desperate...

I think you underestimate the number of Democrats who are actually against illegal immigration. The leaders of the party want amnesty and open borders, however there are a lot of politicians and regular people who are not. The 2006 election had a lot of Democrats win with a platform that included not giving illegals amnesty.

Obama has a lot of other things to worry about besides providing amnesty to illegals. I think it's safe to say that it ranks pretty low on his to-do list. The American people, both Democrats and Republicans, aren't going to let amnesty get passed. We proved it once before and we'll prove it again.

I could understand being a sore loser... but why are you being a sore winner?

That doesn't quite add up.

Gloating and revelling in schadenfreude may be things that a winner may do, but I thought that maybe you might be better, and above that sort of thing.

I think, when it's all said and done, we'll find out that the amnesty will include 30 to 40 million.
And all of them will collect social services at a higher rate than the rest of the population.

As far as I can tell, Obama doesn't have a single policy that won't kill this country.
Watch for industries to be nationalized.
Watch for it to become illegal to lay off your employees....
