Are We Experiencing An Obama Bubble?

I have a funny feeling about Obama and it isn't a tingle running up my leg.

Combine a certain arrogance as evidenced by pretending there actually is an "Office of the President-elect" with the media's incessant swooning over all things Obama and a public aready in a bad mood - there may come a time when the public gets very tired of the latest American Idol who became President. Let's hope it doesn't happen before he even takes office.

But if and when it happens, watch out. 

Also, the media damaged itself significantly by fawning over Obama during the campaign. If he goes down, any remaining shred of credibility they may still have will go with him.

Don't be surprised if they try to prop him up for that reason alone, if nothing else. They invested heavily in Obama. I'm unconvinced the majority of the public has to this point.

Eventually Obama is going to have to show something worthy of all this praise. And I can't find anything on his resume that actually warrants the rave reviews.

I wish I had a nickel for every time the MSM has "lost every remaining shred of their credibility." Unfortunately, their credibility by now comes from the (still large) numbers of people who will always think it natural to get news from the MSM simply because that's the way they've always done it, and if this new-fangled Internet thingummy disagrees with what they hear with their own ears from the TV itself, why, the Internet must have gotten its tubes crossed somewheres.

The destruction of Sarah Palin in a scant 2 months shows the power of the media and the ease with which lies repeated often enough become truth for the majority of not-very-bright-Americans.

However, the media is going to have a tough time spinning how Obama is going to create 2.5 million jobs in the next two years or make any of his campaign promises turn into reality.

This, I doubt the Americans will forget because despite what the liberals think, most Americans voted for Obama because Bush destroyed the credibility of the Republican Party in the White House and McCain ran a pretty bad campaign.

If the economy improves in 4 years Obama may get re elected, if it is still in the tank and the GOP can field a half way decent NON CRAZY candidate who doesn't rant about gays and dead babies but talks about basic conservative values, he will be a one termer.

You are all forgetting something...

In February all US TV stations will be going to digital broadcasting. If you look at the demographics of the MSM news (especially of the broadcast networks) you will find the average age of their viewers is 50+. These people are also the ones who are less likely on the whole to subscribe to cable due to the cost of it and those digital converter boxes are not all they are cracked up to be. The MSM will be losing a big chunk of their viewership come February, even if some of them do finally pony up for cable. Why do I think they will lose viewers even if these folks pony up for the cable? Because they will disperse like the rest of the viewing public did when they got cable for the first time. They will discover things like Animal Planet, The History Channel, etc.. and they will also discover that they do not have to be chained down at a certain time to get TV news. They will also discover just how incredibly biased MSNBC and CNN are after a week or so at most and will tune them out. Of course some of them will agree with the biases exhibited by the likes of CNN and MSNBC but on the whole the sheer disrespect they show for America and those "bitter clingers" will eventually wear very thin.
