okay, three votes from my three AX accounts have been entered.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Dan.

There were plenty of times in years past when I bought things for my classes--in similar vein to the "$600" the young lady mentioned doing herself--that self-indulgent parents who were more concerned about owning their own latest toy _should_ have bought for their own children. My wife still does so to this day, though to a lesser extent than in years past.

I got off that ride entirely.

More $$ will NOT help, as long as _parents_ aren't themselves doing the basic funding of their children's classroom needs (the "pencils, notebooks" etc. mentioned by the young lady in the video). Heck, my parents never quite reached that economic promised land of "middle class" until years after they saw an empty nest, and they provided for the basic educational/classroom needs of five children (while _we_ paid our own ways through college--the four of the five of us who wanted and could best benefit from college/university... and the three of those four who sought advanced degrees as well).

Sorry. Public schools are over-funded as it is. A more helpful project would be to focus on getting remote educrats OUT of local education. Period. Until that's done and parents demonstrate with their pocketbooks--no matter how thin those pocketbooks may seem--pouring more money after what's already being wasted is meaningless.
