... the United States is on the verge of suffering a humiliating defeat in Iraq.
Face it - the dude has never joined a fight he wouldn't quit. I prefer people with a little more character, one's willing to see tough times through, not turn tail and run while trying to bolster their reputation as analysts by regurgitating for the blogosphere what the MSM said yesterday.
And today on McCain. I'd almost think he wanted to work for The Atlantic. But then he'd have to learn how to write.
But it was hopeless from the start for McCain. This race is pretty much on cruise control now with Obama comfortably (not decisively) ahead.
"Not decisively" but let's quit? That tells you all you need to know about Rick Moron.

So what do you call blowing $ 1 trillion taxpayer dollars, getting 4,200 U.S. soldiers killed, tens of thousands wounded(many maimed and disfigured for life), and hundreds of thousands suffering PTSD?
To empower our enemy Iran.
Don't see how you can call it a win by any stretch of the imagination. I think humiliating defeat works pretty well.

Amen, brother. I've been sucked in by "Moron" a few times. He still gets me every once in awhile but I hadn't seen this one. Thanks for the heads up.

Damn right that it's "not decisively over." From today's Gallup: "The 'traditional' likely voter model, which Gallup has employed for past elections, factors in prior voting behavior as well as current voting intention. This has generally shown a closer contest, reflecting the fact that Republicans have typically been more likely to vote than Democrats in previous elections. Today's results show Obama with a two-point advantage over McCain using this likely voter model, 49% to 47%, this is within the poll's margin of error."

Terry,
If you feel so strongly about go on over to intrade.com.
You can win 6 times your money on McCain.
That's wager 1 dollar to win 6.
You guys are funny. So friggin desperate that you are willing to embarrass yourselves into posting that Mr. 90% of George Bush has any kind of reasonable chance.
I'd say he has two chances. Slim and none.

"I'd say he has two chances. Slim and none. "
And "slim" done left the building several weeks ago.
Obama WILL be your next president. This is what has been decided for almost a year now.
The Bilderberg organization, the Rockefellers, the Rothschilds... the CFR and the Vatican. All the powers of the earth that account for anything are in agreement, and your silly notions - especially the American illusion of "democracy" have very little to do with it.
Lucifer is your owner, Obama is his dog, and you all are his slaves.
Welcome to reality.

Rick Moron banned me from his site 2 years ago when I called him a surrender monkey for his view on Iraq. When my ISP # changed, I could go back but why bother.
Posted by: kat | Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 05:42 PM
Funny that I sent 'Moron' an email and flushed his site from my list less than 5 minutes before reading this post. jharp, less ($10-15 billion less) money has been spent and fewer soldiers have been killed in the real war on terror led by GWB than was spent/killed by Slick Willie's wars which never freed a single sole or won a war. Get a life boy, being stupid and showing it isn't a good thing.

What you meant to say was that Gallup has fudged the numbers, aka lied, in the past and Algorabge and Hanoi John can prove it. They will never be POTUS. Ain't that a shame? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm happy we won the two and if we lose this one the democrats will be after Hussein O with guns in less than two years. They'll play stupid until they find he means them when he say's he'll take from many and give to the worthless POS wondering the streets smoking crack, that is what Hussein doesn't smoke himself.

Scrapiron,
"jharp, less ($10-15 billion less) money has been spent and fewer soldiers have been killed in the real war on terror led by GWB than was spent/killed by Slick Willie's wars which never freed a single sole or won a war."
What in the world are you talking about?
Just how many were killed in Slick Willie's wars?
Just how much was spent in Slick Willie's wars?
And now Iraq is the real war on terror? Hmmm. What did everhappen to that Osama guy anyways? You know, the one who killed 3,000 Americans.
Yeah, we really freed the Iraq's. Hundreds of thousands killed. Millions displaced. And they want us the heck out of there.
And Iran couldn't have imagined a better outcome. And Osama too has to be thrilled beyond his wildest expectations.
Economic ruin. Isolated from the world. Crumpled military. And Osama did it with 19 men. And George Bush with the mightiest military in the world can't defeat a reg tag third world country in 6 years.

I posted a polite but critical comment on his website several months ago. His response was to ban me from the site. What a thin skinned, arrogant dude this guy is. He also seems to think that writing a lot of words equates to actually having something intelligent to say.

There is a way to change your IP address, just google for info. I think mine changes all the time because my credit card accounts always say they don't recognize me and I have to go through an email confirmation process.

Pardon my intrusion, but I would like to set the record straight regarding my banning of Mr. Bear.
Mr.Bear did not leave "a polite but critical comment" on my website. Or perhaps technically he did. But the intimation that he was criticizing some post or thought I made is a little disingenuous.
This is his exact comment:
"Been visiting your website for several months now. After this, no more. Bye and good luck."
I am not the only blogger who, when someone wants to play drama queen and announces that they no longer will be visiting, assists the individual with keeping his promise by banning him.
So Mr. Bear was not banned for criticizing anything I wrote but because I wished to help him keep his vow - a not uncommon practice.
As for the rest? Some people like oysters - others don't.

Seems like a bit of an overly dramatic response on your part, Mr. Moran.
I reckon a simple "suit yourself" or even ignoring the jerk might have been worth the 2min you spent banning him to do something more productive.
But that's just me - way I see it, there are really too many jerks in the world to get your feathers ruffled over.

Yes, he quoted me a couple of months ago, took it out of context so he could write an article that directly contradicted mine, and made it look like I agreed with him. I found that he had turned off comments, so I emailed him about it. I never got a response.

Rick Moran has a thin skin, and a hot temper.
I have commented at his site a few times, but I have never called him names, used profanity, or made legally-actionable remarks.
Yet he has hidden/blocked comments from me, and probably from others.
I disagreed with him, and accurately quoted his own words. His response was to get spitting mad, attack me with straw-man arguments, author a new post mocking the alleged lack of intelligence of people who don't agree with him ("A SHORT, BUT PIQUANT NOTE, ON KNUCKLEDRAGGERS"; looks like he shelled out dough for a thesaurus, huh? Too bad his punctuation is incorrect), and delete comments that drew attention to his behavior.
But how can his statements:
"IF ELECTED, OBAMA WILL BE MY PRESIDENT"
"But when push comes to shove and crisis erupts somewhere in the world involving American interests – and no president in recent memory has escaped such a challenge – I plan on backing my president’s play. I may give voice to skepticism about the path he chooses. This is our right and duty. But I will not wish that he fail nor will I work to see that he does."
...be interpreted as anything other than a rubberstamp for every Obama foreign-policy decision?
Withdraw support for Israel? Don't worry Barry, Rickie has your back!
Stop pressuring Iran & company from seeking nukes? Rickie will carry the Big O's lunchbox for him.
Let's take a poll: What should Rightwing Nuthouse be re-named?
1) Leftwing Nuthouse
2) Rightwing Nutsack
3) Fencesitters Anonymous

roflmao!
Rick Moran has a new post up:
"10/17/2008
WHY I NO LONGER ALLOW COMMENTS
I owe those precious few of you – those who were civil, who took the time to read and think before posting, and who were unfailingly polite – an explanation of why, finally, I have decided to disallow comments on this site.
Long time readers know I have been back and forth on this issue for probably a year. I’ll shut them down for a week or so but then after some of you email me asking that they be reestablished, I break down and do it.
I’ve tried moderated, unmoderated and semi-moderated (lots of words in the spam instructions), But each time I would reestablish comment privileges, the same reasons that made me stop them in the first place would rear up and bite me in the ass.
Look. I know I have a temper. I know I fly off the handle. I know I have a thin skin. I know I am not a very pleasant person. I know all of these things.
And I get worse when comments are allowed.
I am an emotional, passionate, person with strong opinions. After 4 years of blogging, I know the kinds of people who prowl the internet – many of them even more unpleasant than I am. Perhaps I should be writing a diary instead of a blog. Some would probably argue that’s a good idea. That way, I wouldn’t have to deal with people who could care less what I write – the ideas, the arguments, the threads of logic – and say whatever they want in response to whatever they think I am saying (or, more obtusely, what they believe I should be saying).
And if the feedback I got was intelligent, respectful, and open to the give and take, parry and thrust of debate then this blog would be a joy. Alas, such is not the case. That’s just the way the internet is.
I have indeed had spirited debates with some commenters over the years. But the fact is, I’m tired of the bull, tired of the insults, tired of the flaming, tired of the whole damn thing.
I will no doubt receive criticism for this – probably deserved. But I know 2 prominent bloggers who reached the same place that I am now – one quit blogging altogether and the other stopped allowing comments.
Since I am not going to give up the blog, option B would seem to be my only alternative."
