Can we get an ad up on this ... like yesterday-quick, please??? h/t Hot Air They have gotten full of themselves, haven't they? This could at least turn a disaster into just ... well, a calamity, maybe.
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said Democrats will push for a stimulus package after the November election, and called for a package reducing defense spending by 25 percent while saying Congress will "eventually" raise taxes.
Frank told the editorial board of the SouthCoast Standard-Times that he wanted to reduce defense spending by a quarter, meaning the United States would have to withdraw from Iraq sooner.
"The people of Iraq want us out, and we want to stay over their objection," he said. "It's extraordinary."
Frank also said the post-election stimulus package will focus on spending for building projects, extending unemployment benefits, and further supporting states' healthcare costs. "We'll have to raise taxes ultimately," Frank said. "Not now, but eventually." Frank told the Standard-Times that if Democrats cannot secure the votes they need in November, they will try again in January, when they will likely have stronger majorities in the House and Senate.
Moron.

Frank is right on. And with the new larger House and Senate majorities, plus an Obama Presidency, it's going to happen. And we'll all be better off.

From Politico.
"Carville likened the Washington political environment to pre-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, saying that "there will be nothing left standing" after the election. He added that Republicans stand to lose "not just an election but a generation of voters."
Why not start the finger pointing now? I'm ready and I'll get it started.
Because conservatism doesn't work. Never has and never will.
Our country was founded on Liberalism. Our founders were liberals. Jesus Christ was liberal.
And liberalism is back in a big way for a long stay. I'm very happy.

Harpo is entering a new mental phase, something like the ecstacy of St. Franksis.

Jesus Christ did not support infanticide, like you and your anti-christ.

jharp has lost his damn mind if he's calling George Washington, James Madison, John Adams, George Mason and I don't know how many others Liberal in his sense of the word. You've taken that lying thingy you talk about here so often to another level, jharpy.
Uh, and just for your information, I don't usually think of James Carville as either objective or Liberal in the historical sense of the word. As for his opinion, it's like assholes, everyone has one. I seem to remember him making a couple of predictions about the last two Presidential elections that didn't pan out. LOL.

Would all the Libertarians who posted on here in 2006 please stand up. You know, the ones who voted Democrat simply to punish Republicans for being to liberal. Gosh, you sure showed them! The little plan didn't work and now we have a true Socialist/Commie to aid Pelosi and crew. Stand up so that I can bitch slap you.

There will soon be a new sheriff in town, patriots. Let me reiterate - it will not be your country anymore. The days of Freedom Fries and Terri Schiavo are fast coming to an end.
Best declare victory in your silly little war now, before the pullout begins in February.

Sheriff. That makes me think of Don Knotts. Don Knotts make me think of Obama. Democrat men are not very manly for the most part. There's probably one or two but most seem to be indoor, office types.
Geeky, sort of.

Oh, c'mon....admit it. There's so much wasteful spending and pork in the military budgets that it will be no problem bringing military spending down substantially without affecting national security one iota. How much does this country spend on weapons systems that were designed to fight the Soviet Union and are useless against fighting terrorists? How much money is spent maintaining 10,000 nuclear weapons annually. About $30 billion. I think we can get by just fine with 500 nuclear warheads and not 10,000 and not lose any deterrence. The defense budget has been bloated by Republicans for decades. Surely this country can defend itself just fine on less money, as long as the money is spent properly and the taxpayers aren't ripped off by defense contractors and corrupt government officials.
